I think if they made a new movie thats after episode 9 but had nothing to do with the Resistance/First Order that would be fine. Make a movie with a much smaller scale kind of like how the mandalorian is, follow maybe a few individuals that have no army or anything and some villains that arent over the top. Whoever said the mafia/underworld idea has the right idea.

Basically keep most of the established characters out of it so you can focus on building up new ones.

The one thing we don’t have across 9 movies is Vader blacking out.

Maul blacked out and gave taken Jedi that work.

palpatine gave Ma$e that work

Adult Yoda got in Dooku’s ass.

animated General Grevious set it on the entire Jedi council

Then that Nikka Vader blacked the fukked for two minutes on some Jason Vorhees shyt. Dudes were running around the ship like it was a active shooter going on.

I just want 1 movie with no ties to anything else. Palpatine sends him to find some rouge Jedi we never heard of and we watch Vader move like 1994 Jackie Chan.

make a movie with a new non-human lead and just see what happens. fukk it.

also fukk around with genre on Disney+ and do something about those 2 bumbling comedic dudes from the comic or something. MCU thrives bc they've shifted tone from movie to movie. Solo was supposed to be a Lord Miller movie and they pussed out. Just try shyt. Who fukkin cares. The brand is tarnished in most people's eyes anyway. if you fukk it up further, drop some kind of course correction reboot in 10 years.

oh but i also think whatever Knights of the Old Republic is could be running concurrently. we're talking about a literal galaxy of potential stories here, stop trying to connect threads. "Star Wars" is enough of a thread.

I think this was the plan before Baby Yoda and Mando came through and crushed the buildings

It's still the overall plan. This is what Disney has always done. They buy/acquire/appropriate established mythologies and twist them to suit their own social engineering purposes. Sure they'll ride waves of popularity with Mando and BY, there's money to be made...but don't think they care one whit about childhoods or nostalgia, they'll ride it out, squeeze every last shekel they can out of the fad, and retcon it twenty years down the line with a "re-imagining of the story for a new generation" or some such. The easiest example of that is to watch the difference in Marvel Comics pre-Disney and the MCU now. The garbage with Phastos is just the latest in a long line of tinkering for effect.

These people are in the business of shaping generations. It's a shame Lucas tapped out.
