Dunno about movies, but I think if they do any more animated series there's a lot to work with.

-They could do a series set between Episode 6 and 7 and have younger Luke/Leia as protagonists and maybe Ben Solo as a kid. Could have Luke meet Ahsoka, actually explain something about Snoke and how Palpatine survived, maybe show something about Palpatine's son, maybe the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda could be involved, etc.

-They could do something that takes place after Ep9 showing Rey restarting the Jedi Order, maybe have Finn learn how to fight, etc.

-They could do something 10 or 20 years before Ep1 with Plagueis and young Palpatine making moves

Shoot it 50 years into the future. Force is in full effect with Jedi, Sith, Grey Jedi and Force sensitive users plenty. War between the Jedi and Sith after the sith abandon the rule of 2 and set out to be the dominant controllers of the galaxy destroying any who reject sith teachings claiming all others to be heretics. Jedi will have equal or greater numbers but will be held back by morality.

director .. I’ll give it to Favreau

I think they should go with mandalorian style shows for the next 2 or 3 years and build up to a new trilogy. Bring peoples faith back slowly and jump start the new trilogy with baby yoda as a new jedi master looking to rebuild the jedi

I’d be cool with one off episodic adventures. I just don’t want another round of “last Jedi last sith/Ren whatever” one person vs an empire

I think people are done with the Sith. At least as far as wanting the good guys to have a win for a while.

It would be like the Maguire, Garfield, and Holland Spider-Man all fighting Green Goblins over 9 movies. At some point you just want them to win and move on.

if they hadn’t brought back Palpatine they definitely could have tried a Sith story.

Haven't seen the movie yet, not looking to bash or hate on it.

But I think the future of SW is on Disney + rather than in film.

I know the Mace Windu series is a rumor but that needs to actually become a real thing. Beyond that, new world, new characters, new intereptations of the force and where it has gone since the last flick.

I would more equate GG with the Empire/First Order. I’m going no politics, just straight up Sith going in for religion and to be dominate not to have one supreme ruler like palpatine

Star Wars as a behemoth is dead. There's really nothing that they can do to really bring it to where it once was, ever again. The franchise was carried by it's fans. It was it's fans that birthed new fans. They failed in creating new fans with the new trilogy, and fans of the games don't really carry over into the other media. It is, was, and will always be a niche market.

Now, for me, I think they should stay far away from Jedi/Sith/Force stuff, stay away from Empires and Colonies, and focus on other things. They don't care enough about the mythology of it to really do any series justice as far as those things are concerned. I think they should just do simple stories - small communities and the life of the average blue collar citizen, Bounty Hunter lore, sports, celebrities/pro athletes/entertainers in the SW galaxy type stuff. They could even do a prison series/movie...a la Oz.

Maybe. But since the last two empires failed when the Sith leader was killed, I think audiences associate the Sith with the Empire.

I think people want to know the Jedi handle large threats not associated with Siths or Empires.

Possibly something that happens in the immediate aftermath of Episode 6. Have the Empire leadership being hunted by the rebels, have generals, administrators, etc being tried as war criminals like Nuremberg, etc. Have some generals or higher ups start an insurgency against the rebels until Snoke comes along and the First Order is established. How about stories dealing with organized crime/the underworld during the reign of the empire.

Or you can do something that follows the life of a Stormtrooper as they're taken from the parents as a child and go through indoctrination into the Empire and become a Stormtrooper. Maybe as Captain Phasma series.

Waiting to see how that Cassian Andor series is gonna go. I rewatched Rogue One yesterday and, once again, it confirmed for me that this one movie is the best SW movie Disney is responsible for.

I’d prefer if they did stick in that realm after order 66 and ANH, especially with little things like that new Jedi game. You could make a series based off that too.

that time period is old but fresh enough. Them going further back just gives them too much freedom of creativity in terms of stories while it doesn’t strengthen the writing (character development, connection to the existing universe) IMHO, something that’s really the problem.

using that timeline, they’ve got enough already existing ideas in the universe that’ll keep them in check and they can focus more on the internal workings of stories instead of trying to make something that’s grandiose

so, Cassian Andor and the Kenobi series really...
