What can be removed from a Star Wars movie and still be Star Wars?

So much of the story has been defined by the Jedi, Skywalkers, Sith, Empire/First Order.

How can Disney move beyond that and expect to make the money Lucas put 40 years into building. Disney wants money now.

An old Jedi story would fail just because people already know the outcome. Move beyond IX would need Rey to set it up. Go far out into the future and it’s not really Star Wars as we know it and a huge gamble for a risk adverse conglomerate.

I'm kind of done with Star Wars. The disorganization of this trilogy ruined the series for me at the moment. I would rather have a star wars movie that has nothing to do with Jedi or Sith. It can exist in the same world, but I dont want to see light sabers or anything like that. Maybe a better Solo type movie.

Shoot it 50 years into the future. Force is in full effect with Jedi, Sith, Grey Jedi and Force sensitive users plenty. War between the Jedi and Sith after the sith abandon the rule of 2 and set out to be the dominant controllers of the galaxy destroying any who reject sith teachings claiming all others to be heretics. Jedi will have equal or greater numbers but will be held back by morality.
