Cut Throat Island was one of the biggest flops ever, (made only 10 million on an almost 100 million dollar budget :deadmanny:)blamed on pirates only for pirates of the carribean to become a huge franchise less than a decade later.
I remember that flick :hhh: but did it deserve to be a be a hit?

That was Costner’s character, right? I don’t even remember him being such an a$$hole; just grumpy came to mind when I think about it.
Hard to get behind a character that tried to barter some alone time with a woman and child for some paper. Literal paper.

It wasn't a flop at all because it was on Netflix and it was still acclaimed but I think 'The Irishman' would've been way way better with a younger cast. I know Scorsese had to reunite the gang and do it one more time but I wished he would've put the old guard in different roles in the film and let some younger actors whil' out and do damage. They were just so flabby n sick in this and having them do young boy shyt was tough on the eyes and hard to watch imo. I don't think he gets a huge budget like this to do a personal pet project like this one again. I think it was wasted. He should've gave us this last Goodfellas/Mean Streets/Scarface iteration for this generation while he had the opportunity.
