As a youngin' I always fell asleep after the basic training part didn't even watch the rest until I got older, its not bad, its just so different from the beginning of the film. Plus their Sergeant in basic training had quotables for days and after that there was no more comedy to be found in the movie. Just death and despair

Batman was the same movie, the intensity just picked up for the better in the 2nd half. The first half I was like & the 2nd half I was like

yup, but this was one of the only times i seen the switch up work well

Red State, talk about extremes...the first twenty minutes it's like random teen dudes joking around and care free. Then it's a cult film and then it's an action stand-off flick.

Yeah Red State was weird as fukk. At one point I was like "this is the scariest shyt I ever seen" next thing you know im like "wai is this a comedy?" and that ending was just "WTF"

And did anyone see that movie "Sprung"? it didn't switch up half way through but rather it kept switching up throughout the movie, not story wise but genre wise. the comedy scenes were straight up hilarious but the romace scenes were so dead serious it was just jarring as fukk. it was like watching two different movies smashed together as one movie.

A fantasy action film set in a dynastic period about a retired war general Su Can who gets betrayed by his adopted brother, Yuan. Yuan's family was killed off by the Su Can family for being fukk up but Yaun and his sister was taken in as kids and raised as a part of Su Can's fam.

After Yuan gains political status, he bides his time learning a new fighting technique based on poison and alters his body (making a good amount his own skin into armor).

Yuan comes back and puts the beats on Su Can, leaves him for dead, and takes over his family. Su Can makes a comeback and kills Yuan but not before he can save his wife. Sounds like a bittersweet ending-

Oh so the movie is not over?

So now the movie is set in a colonization period



And turns into a "fukk the white man" movie much like Ip Man 2 but poorly done.

It's like the government stepped in on the set and told the director to stop what he's doing and then forced him to add in a part about China's struggles with oppressive foreigners
