You call it dumb because it exposes the faith you have in some men of science. There's no telling how many beliefs a "science only" atheist has on topics that he or she has not seen proven with their own eyes. Thus they they place their trust (better word is faith) in a variety of scientists that (allegedly) did these experiments.

Here's the difference.

I don't have to leave my "belief" up to scientist. Science is upheld by experiments and testable proofs. You and I could quit our jobs tomorrow and go test every single scientific idea known to man.

If a claim cannot be tested and proved, it cannot be considered scientific fact. If you developed a million test and only 1 of them failed, your hypothesis would be wrong.

To think that our standards of truth, our level of credibility, our level of belief is equal is absolutely disingenuous.

So how do I know the devil is real? I looked at the world and came to a conclusion. I've had my own personal experiences as well as other people I've known/read about that I take into account as well.

Yes either way there is an adversary that works against humanity's benefit. Have you looked at the world lately?
