If i stab someone in the chest and say, I'm doing this for SONY! does that make sony evil? Hell no it makes me crazy.

Again with the weird analogies. If Sony has an instruction manual somewhere that mentions stabbing people for whatever reason is a sound idea then yes, Sony is evil AND you are crazy.

So tell me again where parents are supposed to kill their children according to religion? (more specifically Christianity)

Exodus 22:18
King James Version (KJV)

18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Or does that not count because it's witches or sorceresses?

Even if we were to look at this civil law and tie it into the mother's actions the kids were not witches also nowhere is the prescribed solution to demonic possession STABBING

Here's an interesting book on this subject BTW:

So that's all you took out of my post?

You keep looking at the event as something that began and ended with a stabbing. Very narrow view of the crime.

Christianity allows people to believe 2 things:
- the devil is a metaphor for bad/evil
- the devil is a physical entity that causes bad things to happen

These are 2 very different, very important opinions because it categorizes events such as the garden of eden and the 40days/40nights event as metaphors/parables or real life events.

It's obvious that not only did she believe the second option, but her opinion on it went unchecked. And what I mean by this, is the same thing us non believers say at moderate religious folks all around the world. We fear the actions of radical extremists as much as we fear the religious moderates who let their views fester.

I just said she's crazy. But how many people in her congregation had the balls to tell her that her interpretation of the bible was bullshyt because she was clinically insane? None.

Her being on meds keeps those kids alive. Her being on med doesn't stop her from believing that the devil can control people.

No i got what you said I still assign her actions and the responsibility of those actions on her, not her beliefs...where they should rightfully rest.

Even if she believed her kids were possessed by the ACTUAL literal devil the choice to stab was hers, now had she been sane, the kids would still be alive. The fact that she was INSANE is the ONLY reason they are dead. It really is that simple.

It's more than reasonable to fear what people think and how they act, but the onus of responsibility falls on the people themselves.

:snoop: but if she's clinically insane then she has no culpability in this case :bryan:

so no, the onus falls on believers to police folks in their own congregation towards the true interpretation of the bible

but there are like thousands of denominations….so….whose truth is the real truth :lolbron:

folks can't even decide if the devil is a metaphor or real entity :lolbron:

But all truthful jokes aside, you're still dodging a major issue in this story. Even if she was sane, would she have still been allowed to believe that the devil was a physical entity? Can't argue belief right? That's why it's called faith right?

Oh okay I never met a christian that didn't believe the bible was written by there god and wasn't perfect. But here are some scriptures that my christian friend would throw at me ( And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times” (Psalm 12:6) and this one (Every word of God is pure” (Proverbs 30:5 KJV)

You might have never even met a real christian :mjpls:

Nonetheless this doesn't say the bible is perfect. As I now see this was explained.

:snoop: not this dumb argument again

You call it dumb because it exposes the faith you have in some men of science. There's no telling how many beliefs a "science only" atheist has on topics that he or she has not seen proven with their own eyes. Thus they they place their trust (better word is faith) in a variety of scientists that (allegedly) did these experiments.
