5 solo albums,

3 classic albums (Reflection Eternal Black Star, BOBS, The Ecstatic)

6 Grammy nods (him losing to Weezy that year will forever make me mad)

Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for "Something The Lord Made"

Regarded as one of the greatest MCs ever, if you just rattling off names and not fazed by a "Top 10" list, shyt like sales or how many "Classics" a fan will say he has regardless of how many albums he releases a year

Seem alright to me :yeshrug:

LMAO that's quite a career. And he's still active, soooo :upsetfavre:

I wish he made a proper follow up album to BOBS in 01-02. His charisma, and singing, I'm sure he could've come up with a single that could have blown him up or gotten him a platinum plaque. BOBS went gold, he was setup for stardom. He didn't fumble the bag or anything, he still had a good career, I think his heart was more into acting.

So are you going to supply the real narrative culturally of what occurred.
Or are you gonna sit here with this half hearted and half informed dumb nikka take.

As rhe story of mos.
Has way more to culturally for the time period.

That to leave it out of the discussion.
Is sumfin only a culture thief would do.

Survival of the fittest
i think he could see thru the bullshyt and when the industry became so polluted with bullshyt, he just moved on
This is my feeling. I wouldn't blame any true mc for not wanting to bother with competing with the rap climate of this past decade.

The bigger question mark to me is what happened to his acting career. Dude went from flicks with Charleze Theron, Jason Stathum, Jack Black, Bruce Willis to nothing. Most music artists that transition to movies stay doing that because it's more lucrative than the music industry. But maybe he wants no part of Hollywood craziness either.

If you're in a good enough place to not have to really be active in anything and can jus live quietly thats great. Last I saw he was on Good Morning America showing them around a museum he runs in Brooklyn, and that's where you can hear new music from him

Black star and BOBS is classic enough. Some artists still going havent given us such classics.

I just think he never wanted to be the next superstar?

Where does he even live these days?

Maybe he gave all he had. Maybe he chose to not make his life about creating art for your personal pleasure.
