5 solo albums,
3 classic albums (Reflection EternalBlack Star, BOBS, The Ecstatic)
6 Grammy nods (him losing to Weezy that year will forever make me mad)
Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for "Something The Lord Made"
Regarded as one of the greatest MCs ever, if you just rattling off names and not fazed by a "Top 10" list, shyt like sales or how many "Classics" a fan will say he has regardless of how many albums he releases a year
Seem alright to me

This is my feeling. I wouldn't blame any true mc for not wanting to bother with competing with the rap climate of this past decade.i think he could see thru the bullshyt and when the industry became so polluted with bullshyt, he just moved on

The bigger question mark to me is what happened to his acting career. Dude went from flicks with Charleze Theron, Jason Stathum, Jack Black, Bruce Willis to nothing. Most music artists that transition to movies stay doing that because it's more lucrative than the music industry. But maybe he wants no part of Hollywood craziness either.
If you're in a good enough place to not have to really be active in anything and can jus live quietly thats great. Last I saw he was on Good Morning America showing them around a museum he runs in Brooklyn, and that's where you can hear new music from him
