It must’ve been a bidding war with at LEAST two other teams and Detroit said “fukk it. Make him the Godfather offer”

Shows their committed to building a contender within 2-3 years. I respect it
They were getting no interest from premier coaches and had to back up the truck. Simple as that. The pistons franchise stays struggling to recruit talent sadly.

It's not my money and it's not your money. Ridiculous contract, though they are not contending for a title, so the coach has no ultimatum, unless they don't become a legit playoff team in a few years.

Coaching game just got fukked all the way up with this deal. I love to see a black man get it like that though. And with that kind of money they couldn't fire that nikka even if he fukked Gores wife and daughter.

If all goes well he'll be their version of Pop...building that culture for the next decade.

Ty Lue bout to get a baggg thrown at him. Phoenix been lusting over him for a minute now.

NO
No one else was looking for Monty for a coaching gig so Detroit outbidded themselves :mjlol:

Salute for finessing billionaires but will instantly become the next Marc Jackson, Dwayne Casey, and Tony Dungy when they are tired of not getting over the hump and would want a wm to do it for them after the black man did the hard work of building that roster and installing a winning culture

Monty by all accounts a stand up human being with a beautiful family, always worth celebrating a breh like that running a dumbass desperate billionaire's pockets. :salute: While still far from perfect he def leveled up majorly as a coach from his start in NOLA to his run in PHX. Hopefully he's learned even more from that time coaching an actual "contender" to make another leap, he is going to need it to find success with that Pistons roster he's inheriting.
