Lol you got a long way to go then. If you can craft 1 or 2, preferably 3, pieces of armor that give poison resistance then you'll make the Pukei Pukei a pushover. If not, craft as many antidotes as you can. I recommend an Insect Glaive with a Kinsect that has healing dust. Learn how to vault with it and stay airborne as long as possible. That's how I first beat one on my own. If it still gives you trouble then fire an SOS flare and let somebody else do all the hard work, just look like you're making an effort, but use it as a chance to learn its attack patterns.

Also if you aren't eating before hunts you need to start. If it's a tough hunt I prioritize defense boost, otherwise I try to get the best health boost available.

Prolly not, this game will break you spirit before you get the hang of it and begin to enjoy it.

it aint that hard, its just time-consuming. probably spent more time min-maxing than fighting monsters
