I'm sure you are aware that many black women love Orange Is The New Black.

That surprises me only because Wanda seems to have a higher profile than Monique.

But as to Monique's claims, she is funny but fact is she's not hot/relevant. Even at her peak she was still mainly a "black entertainer", how many black people do you hear talking about her currently or wishing for a new Monique special? Amy ain't funny but she's big right now - it is what it is.

Monique either should have tried to negotiate something better for herself or humbled herself and used this as an opportunity to get popping again. If she put out a funny stand up on Netflix, WOM would have been great promotion for it and she may have gotten new looks from the industry that could open the door to new roles or more specials. I don't care what industry you're in, how high up you think you are, sometimes you gotta take a "step back" to make that next leap forward.

Why are you going so hard to be wrong? Nobody trying to hear about old folks that had it. When is the last time Monique been relevant to be on the big demand. I guess if you ran netflix you'd pay her big money off top based on stuff from awhile ago that isn't in as much demand currently?

Monique could easily dead this by going to BET where she already got s relationship with them and offer to her comedy special with them for way more than Netflix offering.

Then walk that offer right back into Netflix office.

She should've tested the waters by doing a few shows first. If they had sold well, she would've had more bargaining power but she's pretty much been under the radar since Precious.
