Man this one killed me too...you had these high paid black folks wax poetically to get everyone to support and stick up for what they think they are owed...but they don't say shyt when it comes to the average black actor actress who have trouble breaking into the business because of discrimination, stereotypes and typecasting...these folks are unbelievable...they really do believe that you're suppose to get all rah rah with them lol.

Amy Shumer is also fat but has a bigger fan base and is a bigger draw.

There is no industry comparison between Amy Schumer and MoNique.

Schumer's "Trainwreck" made $110 million at the domestic box office. Other than Kevin Hart, virtually no other currently working comedian, male or female, regardless of race or religion, has achieved numbers like that recently leading a movie.

The most recent lead-a-movie data we have for MoNique is Phat Girlz, which made $7 million at the box office.

At best, MoNique currently plays comedy clubs and sometimes theaters that seat 1500.

Schumer has sold out arenas that seat 20,000 per show.

What cable or streaming media programming exec is going to compare the two looking at the numbers, and realistically thinking about their own business?

Amy Schumer has announced a 50+ city world-wide tour that will take place until the end of 2016. Amy made the announcement Thursday night at her sold-out Madison Square Garden show, where she was the first female stand-up comedian to ever sell-out that venue.

Amy is playing another show at MSG on October 18, as well as another NYC-area show on September 28 at Prudential Center.

That surprises me only because Wanda seems to have a higher profile than Monique.

But as to Monique's claims, she is funny but fact is she's not hot/relevant. Even at her peak she was still mainly a "black entertainer", how many black people do you hear talking about her currently or wishing for a new Monique special? Amy ain't funny but she's big right now - it is what it is.

Monique either should have tried to negotiate something better for herself or humbled herself and used this as an opportunity to get popping again. If she put out a funny stand up on Netflix, WOM would have been great promotion for it and she may have gotten new looks from the industry that could open the door to new roles or more specials. I don't care what industry you're in, how high up you think you are, sometimes you gotta take a "step back" to make that next leap forward.

I actually watched Deray’s special a month or so ago. It was aight. To me dude is more of a comedian for women. I like more cerebral comedy.
