Nothing about that was me talking about her getting an offer as that's not the argument in this thread - she got an offer. It's about how much she's worth.
Now how much is she worth? That I can't tell you but the bottom line is she's not hot or popular enough - and never was - to warrant judging her offer based on comparisons to the comics she name dropped. Y'all want to play victim on this, please be my guest. Netflix is about ROI, they gave a woman more and black people more - her argument is naught.
If Monique had an equivalent past 3-4 year run to Amy and this was the offer that came up, we'd have a discussion. Her resume might have been what got her an offer in the first place, it's up to her to parlay step one into bigger paydays down the line. This is nothing new in Hollywood, when you're no longer top billing, your booking fee falls, regardless of resume. You think Halle berry is still getting $20M a role?
I'm done with this convo cuz some of y'all love to embrace victimization in circumstances where it's dollars and cents. If mo wants more money, power to her, but basing her current value on chappelle, rock, and schumer shows a lack of self awareness.
Stop it. I ask you a simple question about the critieria you're using to prove that Monique is wrong, you couldn't verify it. Then you proceed to lie about not using that criteria, but then use the same criteria to ask whether she's worth the offer
You, just like the rest, are making up shyt, that has nothing to do with what Monique is talking about, but instead has more to do with what you feel is justified treatment/compensation for "black entertainers
Don't be coward talmbowt yall embracing victimization, while you're clearly trying not to satisfy some stereotype and label of folks that are willing to make accusations of discrimination
Don't be conveniently obtuse to think mainstream media coverage and you personally seeing/hearing what a person does, will only prove whether they're "hot", doing tours, or making bank. Look at the list of top comics making money and with a following, but not necessarily known to the average person. This applies to designers, musicians and even in other industries. Netflix approach Monique and attended her shows, before making an offer
Monique mention Dave, Rock, and Amy to get an understanding of Netflix's criteria, not to say they don't deserve their money or that she deserved equal or more pay. Like you, they couldn't verify/justify their critieria, so that's the problem. She says all of this in the interview and instagram post, but yet clowns like you still feel comfortable making up shyt, talmbowt whether Hallie Berry getting $20m. silly
