Actually Monique might be a bigger stand up act than Schumer.

When Monique goes on tour she sells places out consistently. Schumer (like a lot of white comics) doesn't bring in a ton of money touring.

Its all subjective. She makes some valid points, and I don't get the appeal with Amy Schumer. I dont think she's as funny as Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, or Margaret Cho. Boycott it if you think she is correct.

But one thing I do see coming down the pike is another black male bashing article that is going to use some of the negative responses from black men to Monique's boycott as further proof that black men dont support black women. If you don't believe me, look at the root facebook page on this issue. Damon Young is probably drafting his next bm aint shyt piece right now using the responses from the root's facebook page.

Seems like she got blacklisted around the time she was in 'Precious' but I don't know the details.

Monique played a hell of a role in precious and won the movie an Oscar. Lee wanted to use that momentum to promote the movie further and asked monique to do some extra promo free of charge, Monique had personal stuff going on and didn't wanna do the extra work for free. Lee and Oprah were mad and told people they were connected to to not work with monique anymore. Monique fades to obscurity.
