All those words you wrote are code for “greed”
Yeah and it is a reflection of the market. Newest stadium of the big four sports is the Islanders arena in Long Island. It was 1.2 billy. This is going to be the new norm. Things rarely go backwards in RE. Plus having a ballpark on the strip is going to cost a premium.

A 1.5 billion dollar baseball stadium?

In Las Vegas?

The New Yankee Stadium was like a billion dollars. And sure. It was 10 years ago but that’s NYC.

How the fukk is a stadium in Vegas…with only 35,000 seats 1.5 billion dollars? How?
Retractable roof costs money.

But that is a lot, must be planning for it to be multi-purpose.

It needed to be done. Franchise is a laughingstock. Team is awful, stadium is decrepit, and they have no fans.
Oakland A’s do have fans.
But the league wouldn’t let them build a stadium where they wanted because it would have competed for market share with the San Francisco Giants.

I forgot the details but it was some grimy shyt.

The A's need a new start. That franchise is sitting on tons of history, they just had a 1973 reunion that looked underwhelming.
That stadium is atrocious.

The Giants blocked the A’s from San Jose because of territorial rights, which the A’s gave the Giants when they were one foot out the door in the 80s and 90s. Nothing to do with MLB.

The A’s have a small but loyal fanbase in California that’s probably dwindling. It makes no sense for the franchise to stay in California.

Oakland is a glorified mid tier city anyways. Not really a pro sports hot bed on its own

Will they keep the team name and color scheme?
It's not the first time the A's have moved.
I've always loved their home uniforms, they are the best uniforms in the majors along with the Dodgers.

my thing is - will the A's up their spending when they move to Las Vegas? they should be required to.

a $57M payroll for a 26-man roster in 2023 is nasty. They're like $155M under the luxury tax.

Completely agree, I would say the Cards and Orioles are second and 3rd tho.
