You're not going to tell me the stadium was half empty or that the A's weren't supported by Oakland from a link on baseball reference when I was in the building when it was mostly full. They played in a football stadium and it was LIT. The early 2000s in the bay area was Bonds, A's, Raiders/Gruden, then 49ers in that order. Zito and Mulder were on TV everywhere. There's other folks in this thread that'll tell you the same thing I am. You still talking out of your ass.

ur speaking off emotions.. I'm giving you facts.
i like the Bay, been there lotta times... they are dead last in the pecking order. and have been since the 1980s.

1. 49ers
2. Warriors
3. Raiders
4. Giants
5. Sharks
6. Stanford Football
7. Cal Football
8. A's

you have never posted anything correct about the bay despite "being there lots of of time"

CFB does not rank ahead of the As and sharks certainly don't, especially you talking since the 80's :dead:

Fresno state gets more attendance than Cal and Stanford at this point. Cal got what they wanted though with the H-AAPI-CU they are running. If you arent a local athlete, why would you go there? At least if you go to Westwood you are still in LA.

You been to the Bay. I lived there for over 20 years. It's my second home. You're not giving facts. You're wrong and you don't know it.

In the early 2000s:

1. Pac Bell Park and Bonds
2. A's - (They had the best crowd and drink specials)
3. Gruden and the Raiders
4. 49ers - (This is mostly because Candlestick was lit, but a pain in the ass to deal with)
5. Cal/Stanford
6. Sharks - (Everyone thought that shyt was cute)
7. Warriors - (I personally used to have entire sections to myself when it was Larry Hughes and Erick Dampier and Adonal Foyle and Bob Sura and Ant Jameson leading the team to the bottom every season)

The thing you should be considering is why the A's, who had shady ownership, would under report their attendance numbers, while in a revenue sharing deal with the rest of the MLB?

That same formula has resulted in them making the playoffs 11 times in 23 years and only win ONE playoff series and have ZERO World Series appearances. Ironically the teams breh mentioned have actually made and in some case won the World Series in those 23 years :heh: So that A's formula can get you to the playoffs but you sure as hell aint wining no WS.

And this...... crazy people who dont live in the Bay Area and have no clue but got the strongest opinions. Funny how mad Dogg didn't mention the Haas, Rickey Henderson, Bash Brother era when the A's had the number one payroll and top attendance. That was probably the only time the A's have ever had a decent ownership in Oakland that was active in the community and invested in the team. The Giants and A's were neck and neck at one point once "Pac bell Park" opened in 2000 it was over. Why go to Oakland unless your a die hard when you can go to a brand spanking new stadium in San Francisco

Its insane to me that Vegas is willing to sell their sold for this owner and its not even just the A's. I know most in this thread aint checking for the MLS but look at what he's done with the San Jose Earthquakes. Brand new stadium, but one of the worst teams in the MLS the last several years(finally playing better this year), and hardly spend money to improve the team....... the Bay Area is basically a wasted and untapped market.

Vegas is really thirsty for the MLB but I wouldn't trust the ownership group plus their coming to town as one of the worst teams in the league with a bottom tier farm system and they about to start receiving those welfare checks again? Good luck Vegas.
the main pushback I'd give to MadDog's rant on attendance is that even a team like the Yankees didn't draw much at all during that same time span (playoffs, yes, they'd sell out), but the Yankees didn't real get packed crowds every night until after the dynasty years. Games during the week wouldn't be sold out.

9 acres? No shot. Also traffic during the summer months would be hell on Earth.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Even a 30k capacity facility will be squeezed into that space. With all of that land out there why are they jamming themselves into something on the strip? Folks gotta come to their senses on this before the team leaves. And Oakland allowed too many botched stadium approaches torpedo the fate of a franchise in their city

After seeing his press conference after this deal got completed, Manfred is easily the worst commissioner in sports. Dude is a condescending fakkit. Oakland has put forth more of a stadium deal than Vegas had. Renderings aren’t shyt

"I think the real question is what is it that Oakland was prepared to do? There is no Oakland offer," said Manfred. "They never got to the point where they had a plan to build a stadium at any site. It's not just John Fisher. ... The community has to provide support, and at some point you come to the realization that it's just not going to happen."

The A’s owner just wants to leave the city. Let’s cut the shyt. He got way more acreage promised in Oaklands proposal and the land isn’t leased.

Dude is a bozo and the team will struggle

They aren’t the Golden Knight and not a football team that people will blindly support like the Raiders.

Being in the AL West is kind of a saving grace because they’d be food in the AL East and NL West.

I just don’t think this Vegas thing is a good idea. Giants won’t share a stadium with them and realistically where can this team somewhat thrive? Nowhere in Florida because Florida doesn’t support baseball so find a way to make it work in Northern California. Them not figuring out how to eat out there after all these years is a crime.

Look at the map. There’s nowhere for these bozos to go unless Wyoming and Montana come callin
