3 months of build....for MJF to come back and cut the same promo he always does.

Zero character development. They dropped the ball big time on this shyt.

Yeah Everything He’s Built Into This Character That’s Made Him One Of The Top 3 Most Talked About Wrestlers Of The Past 3 Years Should Go Out The Window lol WTF You Talking About Breh, You Were Expecting Something Different Cause You Probably Convinced Yourself It Was A Work

I am fine for now with MJF doing his normal "Tease to WWE Stuff" since Punk wasn't there, but it is concerning as MJF should've come prepared for new material. He is starting to remind me of a Matt Leinart, highly touted but protected by Reggie Bush. When he arrived in the NFL just flamed out. Sooner or later you can't stay with normal spiel, you must evolve your Heel character.
:gucci: We got a problem breh?

I agree with this. He’s gotta advance pass the routine local sports team cheap heat. He should’ve had something more important to say. And he’s still relying on the same WWE mentions to get heat which are completely tone deaf now.

When he left months ago, WWE wasn’t seen as the “cool” company like it is now. Things have changed. That promo was a bad look. Crazy how Tony lacks self awareness to this degree to allow that on his show.

yeah his line about HHH didn't get the major boos that they typically would, also as inside as AEW fans are I bet some aren't really up on WWE enough to know who NICK Khan is and he name dropped him too. There's gotta be AEW fans who have tuned into WWE again under Hunter and they aren't gonna treat WWE like the enemy like before

Yeah he fumbled that

If anything they really might need to make Khan a more on screen antagonist for MJF

For example, mjf gets his big match and khan pays Andrade’s group (for example) to interfere and make sure the title remains in AEW

Just something beyond cheap heat

We don't need more heel authority figures in wrestling especially one so awkward in front of the camera as Tony Khan.

I’m just spit balling but anything is better than mjf just insulting the hometown sports team:yeshrug:

Besides it’s an old wrestling trope

Vince elevated a bunch of wrestlers being on screen like Austin, rock etc

Triple H had a good run being a heel authority figure to Daniel Bryan

Lucha underground had Dario Cueto etc

Yes no top star in wrestling has ever evolved their character :comeon:
I get if a wrestler gives the exact same style of promo over and over again it can be irritating. I don't know though. Stone Cold and the Rock made a career out of having pretty much the exact same promo style from start to finish with minor tweaks being applied depending on if they were face or heel.

Wrestling is pretty simple like that. When I think of some of the best promos in wrestling like Miz, Punk, etc they've kinda done the same shyt through the years with minor tweaks.
