It’s funny because Meltzer and them can’t report on this type of shyt because they’re compromised within their ties to AEW. Then the marks are like, well if we don’t hear it from Meltzer then it ain’t legit. These guys really think everything is all gravy over there. A rude awakening is coming in the next couple years with all these contracts coming to an end.

This sounds like MJF is working a little just to get the heat with that audience, but I have no doubt hes gonna consider looking at WWE just to say he can try it out more than anything

3 months of build....for MJF to come back and cut the same promo he always does.

Zero character development. They dropped the ball big time on this shyt.
I agree with this. He’s gotta advance pass the routine local sports team cheap heat. He should’ve had something more important to say. And he’s still relying on the same WWE mentions to get heat which are completely tone deaf now.

When he left months ago, WWE wasn’t seen as the “cool” company like it is now. Things have changed. That promo was a bad look. Crazy how Tony lacks self awareness to this degree to allow that on his show.

There's always an excuse :pachaha:

We were getting the same promo from him either way. If Punk wasn't hurt, he probably doesn't do that fake pandering and he just says that he wants the belt as a bargaining chip for when his contract is up. Instead, he said that he's gonna sit back and let everyone else do the work. You expecting him not to be the same a$$hole who uses others to get ahead?:what:

Punk isn't even his main antagonist in storyline. It's Khan and AEW as a whole. If anything the recent fukkery could be used to evolve his character even further.

Punk not being there makes little difference.

He's still out there doing the tired cheap heat routine. If that's all he has as performer then fine but there is a ceiling to that character. The contract dispute was the perfect opportunity to make his act feel more three dimensional.

I am fine for now with MJF doing his normal "Tease to WWE Stuff" since Punk wasn't there, but it is concerning as MJF should've come prepared for new material. He is starting to remind me of a Matt Leinart, highly touted but protected by Reggie Bush. When he arrived in the NFL just flamed out. Sooner or later you can't stay with normal spiel, you must evolve your Heel character.
