Milwaukee Bucks have fired HC Adrian Griffin, sides working on a deal to make Glenn “Doc” Rivers their next Head Coach.

An exceptional perimeter defender in today's NBA is like having a shutdown corner in the NFL.

The Bucks are far removed from that '21 squad. They are now "outscore the other team" status....and that doesn't get you championships. I don't care how many points Dame puts up.
Thats valid but defense is the reason they got bounced each of the last 2 years so change had to happen. If you got a chance at Dame, and to keep him from a competitor, you go for it. Come playoff time its up to him and Giannis to be Bron and Kyrie, KD and Steph, Shaq and Kobe.

Ironically this is exactly where I blame Bud. Defensively they left Jrue Holiday on an island to defend Jimmy Butler. Bud had that weird defense where all of the bigs camped in the paint, leaving Jrue by himself

You can watch the JJ Reddikk podcast where Khris Middleton mentioned that Bud's game plan was to put Jimmy on single coverage with no help

It doesn't matter if you are prime Dennis Rodman or Ron Artest.. you don't leave 1 defender to guard a great scorer, especially on a scoring streak like Jimmy. That's irresponsible and idotic

And even more ironic is that Adrian Griffin's style of defense was more about trapping and pressure on the perimeter, something that made more sense. But the Bucks players hated it and fired him :deadrose:
fair enough. but again, that's their defensive scheme for the season. they've always done that drop coverage and with jrue at the helm, you feel confident in the man defense.

I had no problem with the trade because a move had to be made. Just stating that what they had to give up is going to affect them anyway.

Idk why they didn’t goto for Nick Nurse.
Reporting said that Giannis more or less told the front office anyone but Nurse. Not sure what his issue with Nurse was. He developed a bit of a thibs rep for playing guys lots of minutes, but I'd be surprised if Giannis had an issue with that.

It's interesting that no one in here has yet to put any blame Jon Horst for the current issues with this team like trading 5 second round picks (that they could use now) for Crowder who has been a bust for them. It's also overlooking how poor at drafting they've been under his tenure, which has helped put them in the situation they're in now. It should be noted that he wasn't the one that drafted Brogdon.

If Bud benefitted from winning the championship that helped buy him more time, then Horst did as well.

It's why I won't put the teams current issues on Doc as even Nurse would be stuck dealing with an aging core and no youth to come help save them.

Yeah he definitely has to take some blame but just like we got posters in here calling LeBron "LeGm", the more interesting thing is why Giannis is not getting any criticism?

Why aren't people coming for Giannis?

Giannis shouldn't be compared to Lebron because their situations aren't the same at all.

Giannis isn't out here being passive aggressive during interviews and social media while using the media to do his bidding like Bron does. Giannis has also been loyal to that organization even when he didn't necessarily have to be. He didn't have to sign the extension in the offseason, but did it anyways so it wouldn't become a distraction to his team. With that being said, Milwaukee has done right by Giannis compared to other superstar players in the league.

I won't put Bud's firing on Giannis as he should have been fired long ago and only last as long as he did because of KD.

Bud should have been fired years ago and was always on borrowed time, so I won't put that on Giannis. People forget all of the failures that team experienced over the years in spite of their regular season success and last season with Miami wasn't a one off thing.

Giannis wasn't the only player on the roster that didn't fukk with Griffin, so do those other players get criticism for it as well?
