It means he's a asset that Charlotte is not giving up by pulling
No, it means that there is no precedent for pulling a contract offer explicitly due to a felony arrest before the league conducts its own investigation or the NBAPA enacting its appeals process. Its not a true punitive action or suspension, but the result is essentially the same as pulling his contract offer goes beyond any form of punishment that exists in the league.

No, if it was so bad the Q/O would've been pulled.

Hornets not stupid, they no they can now re-sign on a low bet on yourself deal.

That's why

And deal with the PR hit that comes from it? It'd be different if it was a different team or owner, but it's MJ we're talking about here. He's not trying to mess up his reputation and the optics of having an abuser on the roster.

Everyone says that until the negative PR comes in and forces their hand. The story isn't that big of a deal right now as there are other stories in the NBA overshadowing it. If/when his trial starts, it's going to pick up steam. Let's not act like acts against women aren't talked about in sports as even you know that's not the case.

Free agency is basically over. The only thing that's a story is kyrie and Durant.

Stop it

If it's so bad why haven't the league put him on the NBA exemption list already?

Why would they have to if he's technically not under contract? He's not stupid. The moment he signs that QO is the moment the league puts him on an indefinite suspension. Since you want to use the NFL as an example, remember the league told teams not to sign AB or else he was getting put on the Exemption List the moment he was signed.

That's why AB never got signed that season.

It hasn't come out to not sign him. The NBA is waiting for the story to die down some. He will be signed by mid August

Do you actually think the league is going to publicly tell teams not to sign him? The man is being charged with a felony and more than likely going to face trial unless he accepts a plea deal. Why would he be signed without seeing how that process plays out? There's more shyt that could potentially come out and make him look even worse.

Let's be realistic here.

A felony that can be reduced to a misdemeanor.

They waiting until the heat dies obviously if not he would of been released ready.

fukk up what happened but he's still a asset

Yes it can be reduced, but that's up to the prosecution. They have all the proof that they need to go after him even if the wife chooses not to do so. You're acting as if the information that she put out is the end of the story when that's certainly not the case and even you know that. For all we know, she could have more pictures and proof of all the shyt that he's done to her.

Yes he is an asset, but a radioactive one right now. Let's not pretend otherwise. Sign him anytime soon and more information comes out that makes him look even worse and see what happens. That wasn't his first time putting the beats on her and it'd be naive to sit here and insist otherwise.
