It's not time yet. They'll do it a couple of years before Melo is due to be a FA after his rookie extension lol.
Nah we gotta play that long game

And ESPN still ain't even started up dragging him through the mud yet eitherBig Facts.
Also, people keep overlooking two key details about this incident that makes it different from previous Domestic Violence cases in the past:
1. The NBA changed their domestic violence policy during the last CBA.
2. HE DOESN'T HAVE A NBA CONTRACT CURRENTLY
Based on the 2017 CBA Domestic Violence policy, the Hornets cannot punish Bridges themselves until he is found guilty.
HOWEVER, the NBA can (and most definitely will) open an investigation, during which Adam Silver has the power to place a player on administrative leave. The policy states that before doing so, Silver is required to consider “player character” and “player reputation within the NBA community”.
Given the facts that he was already rapidly destroying his reputation before this case even happened, and Silver's reputation when it comes to social issues, I'd expect him out for at least a year.
Also, him not having a contract right now complicates things, because any team that signs him will not only get destroyed by the press, but will also not have him available to play until the '23-'24 season AT THE EARLIEST. (I really feel that the bad press is the bigger concern for teams here)
To say that he's only gonna get 20-50 games is ridiculous. You're not gonna see him play at any point next season.
If he'd taken the extension before the season started, the Hornets would've been forced to circle the wagons with him to a degree.I would assume that NBA contracts have some type of moral clause for situations like this as the Hornets might have been totally screwed had this situation happened under that max extension.

Now? He literally couldn't have picked a worse time/scenario to show his ass.
I'm talking about putting Gelo on the Lakers bench

Maybe he was acting out because he was afraid of actually succeeding because of incoming pressureWhat’s crazy is this dude showed up this year in shape….expanded his game…improved his shooting and defense…dropped 20/7/4 on 50/33/80. Really did everything to earn that max contract only to the throw it ALL the way the day before he was gonna get that max bag on some epicly dumb shyt. This shyt is worse than Sprewell. nikka is 23 and one of the top wings in the league and ain’t nobody gonna touch him
Maybe he was acting out because he was afraid of actually succeeding because of incoming pressure
This is the definition of self-sabotage and fear of success
It is self sabotage, but for dude to imply that he beat his wiz because he was afraid of succeeding is silly. This is the definition of self-sabotage and fear of success
