No it's not.
You mentioned Dallas ... the Cowboys dwarf attendance at SMU games.
Cleveland? If there's a FBS team there, let us know. Same with Detroit.
The Steelers play in the same stadium as Pitt ... they outdraw them by a grip.
The Eagles play in the same stadium as Temple ... they outdraw them by a grip.
Compare attendance at Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricane games, Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Tech game, Houston Texans and Houston/Rice games, Arizona Cardinals and Arizona State games, Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Bulls games, Tennessee Titans and Vanderbilt games, Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Bearcats games, Denver Broncos and Colorado St. games, Giants/Jets and Rutgers games, San Diego Chargers and SDSU games ...
What's rare about it again?
And the Wiz are consistently getting 17,000+ at home games and you can't find a fan? I'm from here and know a ton.

I'm talking about the greater area not just the same exact zipcode that the pro team plays in....Most sports fans live in the suburbs and travel within a 60 mile radius.. Of course college football in the actual inner city is trash almost everywhere...
Austin, Athens, Columbus, Ann Arbor and Tallahasee all share fan bases with the areas NFL teams....Hell even the Redskins don't actually play in the city so I thought that was understood...
You are right about the Wizards though... Their attendance is much better than I initially assumed from the handful of games I've gone too...This area is a huge hoops hot bead from starting at the HS level...I would argue on a local level if you take away the transplants it's more of a basketball town than a football town...
