Theres no denying they didnt invent the shyt or that they were even the first new school dudes to use it (Future,ASAP) but didnt spread like wildfire and become the standard flow in the game until they dropped that first YRN mixtape.

They definitely have a point. Even R&B artists are singing with the Migos. The Lord Infamous example is cute but when he did it it wasn't a game changer

It wasn't a "game changer" cause region based rap still existed, so it was still unique. When Migos brought that flow back (in which they were directly influenced by old Memphis rappers and Bone Thugs), it became trendy, and in the post-2009 world of massive social media, it's easy for that flow to be copied and plastered everywhere. Migos definitely get props for resurrecting that flow on a mass scale, but anybody saying it's an "original" flow that they themselves created are either born after 1994, or goofy:manny:and this is coming from somebody that actually likes Migos and doesn't consider them "mumble rappers'

I agree. But I also wouldn't be shocked if Migos wasn't even influenced by Lord Infamous

how can we say they were influenced, when neither Bone Thugs,3-6,Twista,Brotha Lynch would admit that they were influenced by one another, and these nikkas were more similar in style than Migos are to Bone or Lord Infamous:mjlol:

keep in mind, those 4 all grew up in the same era, same time period, and in some cases had similar content and sound. unless your saying 2 out of the 3 of those groups is liars....I dont see why it would be impossible for Migos to have come up with that style on they own decades later..

even that being the case, its okay to say they werent the first, but people cant continue to discredit them, like we dont know the reason why all these nikkas using that flow NOW:martin:

That's a legit possibility, but we know how much they look up to Gucci Mane, who has basically admitted being a Project Pat stan, which could make proxy influence.

You can't really come up with your own style decades later when that style already clearly existed. I mean, Christopher Columbus "discovered America", and yet......

most the radio sounds like kid cudi though (travis scott / lil uzi vert):jbhmm: which just leads back to the harmonizing examples of bone thugs / 3 6 mafia in here :pachaha:

edit: I just typed in a random bone thug song to listen to Mr Bill Collector since im in the mood for good music this morning, the 1st comment (10 months ago) is "they birthed the migos" :pachaha:

And to keep it a Buck Bone jacked that flow from somebody that will NEVER get the props he deserves, fukk these Migo nikkas. I been calling them Sister Act eve since they came to BET looking like little girls.

Instead of trying to stunt and take credit for some shyt that they didn't create, they should show humility and give respect/thanks to the original pioneers who their flow who weren't lucky enough to cash out as well as they have.

:hhh:Garbage feminine ass clowns.

The sole reason it's a game changer now is it's ok for everyone to sound the same....nobody would intentionally sound like another rapper back then. shyt was damn near unheard of actually.

True but Lord Infamous didn't have the same platform as Migos. Hip hop was more regional back then but plenty of stuff still broke on a national level. And there have always been plenty of styles and trends that people copied

well thats a different argument, you said they were directly influenced. Plus they can actually say they were the first if they werent directly influenced, becuase just like with Bone,3-6,Twista,Brotha Lynch, there are actually distinct differences.....so without there being influence, the style is all there own:manny:

Three Six is a real unique situation.

I've noticed a disconnect between serious hip hop fans outside of the south who were cognizant in the 90s, when Three Six wasn't a major factor at all outside of the South and Midwest, and kids nowadays. I feel like history is being revised to give Three Six props that they didn't have in real time. In real time, outside of their region, nobody even knew who they were until 97. And even in 97 they were just another group. They didn't really break through until 2005. That's why they called that album most known unknowns.

If you go on the internet though...all these kids think Mystic Styles from 95 is an all time classic. :prodigylol:
And Lord Infamous has Rakim level props. :prodigylol:
