Bullshyt.... you mean no major exclusives, not games... and Niether did Xbox360... at least ps3 had a built in blu-ray player, web browser, and Other OS.. AND was backwards compatible during that time. AAAAAAAND NO RROD YLOD issues during its first 2 years...

What you fanboys fail to realize is there is just not enough money in producing a couple AAA titles a year to sell to hardcore gamers. The only way console gaming can survive is to offer more than games and hardcore experiences. If they can attract casual gamers and entertainment consumers, they can use that money to further bolster their hardcore gaming efforts. Without that extra revenue console gaming as we know it will die. Sony and Microsoft know this, which is why they concentrate on other things beyond hardcore gaming. I'm positive the ps4 reveal will have a lot to do with alternative experiences other than just gaming. If they just come out and say the ps4 will be a ps3 with more power, nobody but the most dedicated fanboys would be excited about it. If you want sony to survive the next generation you better hope they have something to show other than a bigger processor and another uncharted game.

It's simple. There is this uninformed fuzzy logic that some have that if a console does one thing more than gaming, then gamers lose. As if developers will stop making games for the Xbox because u can stream Rocky on the same box. What dummy fukktards fail to realize is that this is even more incentive to make the best games as the installed base will actually be bigger.
Imagine if designers stopped designing new Nike running shoes protoypes because Nike has been expanding to running pedometers built into the sole while partnering with Apple on the idea. "oh, Nike's focus is not on sports anymore but electronics, so I'm leaving" lol. How stupid.

Outside of the top 2 or 3 titles. Sony exclusives didn't sell very good. And even the top titles didn't sell as well as Microsoft's. you skoff at kinect games, but they sell better than your beloved "Sony exclusives"

Expectations of a lot of things have changed. People want every device that they own to do everything under the sun. If you don't, you sell like the Wii U

They are both after the same thing, that's why they are so similar. They want to control your living room. In that regard, I trust Microsoft to do it better because of software. We, as gamers, just don't want them to forget about us gamers. I don't feel that they will. They have been investing a lot of money into games in preparation for the next Xbox.
