Vivendi Universal always owned Crash and Spyro. Sony was the Publisher.

Just found it interesting they never owned the franchises anyway.

reading the history got me all confused. seems like Naught developed for Vivendi but Sony distributed/published it.

The original Crash trilogy was developed by ND but Sony Nore ND ever owned the IP.

When Sony bought ND. Vivendi(universal) at the time had other devs work on the franchise. Eventually activision purchased vivendi and now Microsoft purchased activision.

Japan is extremely xenophobic, but I dont neccesarily think it's a bad thing to have regulators that prevent key assets from being bought out by foreign businesses.

Look at how China is able to influence our media just because our economy is irreversibly tied to theirs.
