The Switch and PS5 are noticeably different not just in graphics but in the type of games they have. You're trying to use fanboy arguments of exclusive this and that and I'm saying the libraries are noticeably different with a different style of games between them. Nintendo is not making games like Grand Theft Auto and they aren't trying to appeal to the gamer that's into that directly. Nintendo is making games like Pikmin 4 and Sony and Microsoft really aren't.

Having exclusive titles doesn't automatically mean the style of them is unique.

So I'm saying Nintendo makes unique styles of games. Nintendo could just as easily go back to the old days when they tried to put out comparable systems to Xbox and PlayStation and were even willing to make games like Eternal Darkness and I bet they wouldn't find the level of success they have now leaning into what makes them unique.

Nintendo has it's own audience and while there is some overlap no they aren't chasing after PlayStation or Xbox's core consumer
You’re just trying to create an overly nuanced part that skips the obvious.

There is no key difference in the core gamer who plays switch vs PlayStation.

And they both are affected by the same monetary and time constraints to use either.

I have a child. If he ask for a switch an Xbox or a ps5 he’s only getting 1 for his birthday.

No, get other exclusive deals. They got the money to do so.

No one batted a eye when oblivion was exclusive to the 360 for a bit.
When Oblivion came out on 360 the PS3 wasn't even on the market so it was justifiable. They can't get high profile exclusive third party games anymore because they're lacking in marketshare. It wouldn't make sense to the third party to forgo PlayStation and Microsoft would have to spend too much to justify it. If that's the case makes more sense to just buy the publisher and own the method of production.

You can use this excuse with any publisher. So the end game is to buy up everything available at this point? And if so how do you feel about this?

So to you the primary person that plays Call of Duty and the primary person that plays Pokemon is the same exact customer in the same demographic? I don't even think you believe that even acknowledging some will play both. The core target audience is entirely different.

No one said anything about buying up everything. That’s the slippery slope you keep running to.

This case is about activision. Microsoft buying them does not give them some insurmountable advantage in the market.

Are you in good faith attempting to suggest the same consumers who buy Nintendo switches aren’t console gamers?

Are you also suggesting that Nintendo games wouldn’t sale on Xbox and PlayStation if they were available?

This is such a strange argument considering the first page of every Nintendo game thread has a post about the emulation scene on Pc.

You’re the only one who has a unique gaming taste :scusthov:

Yea, it's a slippery slope watching a Console maker buy up all these already consolidated publishers.

Zenimax, now Activision, where does it stop? That's the type of shyt these commissions have to look at when approving these deals.

3 months from now M$ can try to buy EA.

"But we're still in 3rd place, we don't have the market share. You approved it before, how is this different?"

Nobody cares to argue logical fallacies and doom and gloom fantasies with you.
