Well, it would be like whites in South Africa telling the black people that racism is over after they elected their first black South African President in Nelson Mandela.

black people control the government of south africa, there is mass affirmative action and black people are still at the bottom

that means the problems in south africa are bigger than racism

in fact i didint want derail this and other threads and go off topic, but i was gonna make a post about south africa as it relates to the us

the point is apartheid is not the only thing holding black people back, there are things that black people have to do for themselves

what i am afraid of is that black people are gonna end up like south africa, where you fight for something, like ending apartheid, but you are still broke

racism or apartheid is only part of the reason why black people are at the bottom, the other reason is that black people need to make some fundamental changes to the way we do things

I don't have a problem with it. I just disagree with it. I'm all about cultivating dreams and giving an outlet for kids to achive their dreams. I don't think a kid that dreams of being a rapper is at a disadvantage to a kid that dreams of being a doctor. Depending on support the doctor dreaming kid can end up broke and jobless while the "rapper" dreaming kid can end up a doctor.

Regardless of what they are big dreams and confidence are a plus in my book.

the problem is that if a white says it they call them racist, if a black person says it they are c00n sellouts and sh**ing on their own people...you cant win with people that think this way, quick to get defensive and start attacking..

Because that statement is patently false. "Black people" don't need to do better SOME black people need to do better. The unmotivated self destructive ones are a minority within our community. The rest of us are doing ok

What that statement does is take the negatives in some of us, and projects them on all of us.

im not sure what that means, but i do know that malcom x lived 40 years ago and if today you think of yourself as being a sheep, that could be a problem for you

It doesn't matter if they control the government, the whites control all the wealth and resources in the country. Which really are the true governors in any forum of a capitalistic system. In any capitalistic society, the few top wealthy aristocrats are the ones truely controlling the political leaders. Only way to stop that system, is to overthrow the government and the aristocrats like the Russian did in the early 1900's before Stalin came and fukked shytt up.

That's good, but the article fail to mention that Hispanic have the highest high school drop out rate.
