what the hell talking about, I determine what I want to do with my life. I am ok n l of my destiny, If i want to reside in a certain country, city or town thats my business. I am such a proud jamaican, more important a proud black man. I go back to my country at least a weekend out of a month I am not running away, its my favorite place to be on this earth, but I do my business in the states so happen to be here, dont talk about goverment suppressing people because you can use that argument with any country including united states. my job is not to create a better infrastructure my job is to do what I choose to be successful.

You can do whatever you want. But make sure your shytt is clean, before you judge others.

The different between descendants of African slaves in the USA and African descendants in Jamaica. Is that we are oppressed by a white government and yall are being oppressed by a government of people in your own race. Big Fukking Difference.

how am i being quick to judge, i said she called a spade a spade...it is what it is...government being black or white there is no difference they are rule makers that govern the nation, whether in mexico, usa, or africa similar things go on....i dont even know why you took it there because its not making sense. Iwas just posting about blacks needing to think outside the box to better themselves and society as a whole and you go on to pointing fingers and making excuses..typical mentality....if someone wants to put some constructive critism people want to get defensive and start attacking...I am out

slaves in jamaica are the same afrin descendents that are in america bro so i am lost here....and how am i being quick to judge, i said she called a spade a spade...it is what it is.

When I say they was different.:what:

My point is the slaves in Jamaica have their own country and have done nothing to improve it country. Instead yall own black government have sold it's people out for greed while it's people are living in provety. That completely different as in the USA. As one race have set up institutional laws to prevent African slaves from being progressive. You know, Jim Crow, Red Lining, unbalance prejudice justice system, unbalance bias prejudice workplace practices. I can go on and on.

So if you going to call a spade a spade. Then also call the spade in your on broken country that your own race of people can't keep together. Not to mention how yall government is being aided by other white countries. Which is a bigger scale of welfare.

here we go again with the attacking of my own "broken country of my own race people that cant keep it together" because you feel that i am speaking low of blacks in usa..I dont give a damn about what i say thats why i say i call a spade a spade, i will tell my own family they are f***** up if they are. Blacks as a whole here are f***** up and it bothers me to see this so why do you keep going on that other tangent.. I am done with this argument

GTFOH:what:

I can smell people like you a mile away. Quick to shytt on blacks in the USA, while ignoring the shytt that is going on with the majority of people in your own country. You called black people fukked while completely ignoring cause and effect of why people are in their position. Not to mention that Jamaicans who are living in USA are doing no better than descendants of African slaves in the USA. Willie Lynch got y'all Carribeans worst than anyone.

The pot calling the kettle black.

You can't have a million more Floyds and LeBrons. That's the problem. There are only 450 roster spots in the NBA, but we need to create 1M more :gladbron: ?

Even in the entertainment and sports realm there are plenty of jobs that require some sort of education.

There are marketing and ad guys that think of the commercials, people that crunch numbers, the doctors and nutritionist to keep these guys in top shape....

Ignoring that and focusing only on actors/singers/athletes isn't the right route.

Apparently she isn't allowed to comment on the black community because of her response to a fluff question in a People magazine article.

They aren't listening to you. They'd rather quit school and focus solely on being a rapper or a ball player and then when that dream fails just be another lost nikka. A dream is a dream, nikkas aren't dreaming about owning a team, or coaching a team to the super bowl, owning a label, being a successful a&r. They want the glitz glamor and glory. But the smallest piece of it. They wanna be the nikka in the car, not the nikka who designed it. The nikka in the clothes not the nikka who designed them. The nikka on camera but not the nikka who runs the show.

listen...smaller countries and islands dont have welfare...dont have a infrastructure like United States of America, hence thats why many people move to this country. In schools in other countries you have to pay for books and supplies, so many people cannot afford to get a quality education because they do this. In america you have free public schooling..I always say it and people from other countries do too..If you cannot make something of yourself United States its just because of being lazy, thats why the asians and indian's come here and excel and get the best jobs and business, they are minorities too, they actually stick together and support each other instead of making excuses.. You are pretty much given a shot to get educated at not cost. You can go through grade school get good grades and land a scholarship. Even if you do not you still have federal assistance and grants to help pay. There is no excuse for this here so do not compare other countries with this situation you brought up. United States is a place of opportunity and although harder for the black man, they still have opportunity and it is crazy that people are given the opportunity and throw it away and do bs with themselves.

that comparison you made are like comparing apples to oranges, a unequal comparison. oh and i am not even trying to brag, but I am a product of this, I have 2 graduate degrees, young, black, successful and it was easy as hell to do it, if i can i know anyone could that actually put some type of effort into it.

This is bullshyt. Immigrants move here and live in poverty at the same rate as everyone else. Those that excel are usualy coming from a better place socially/economically from their own country, than most poor American minorities. It's not a case of people being lazy and throwing away opportunities. It's just a fact that if limited opportunities are geared torward one demographic. That demographic will achieve more.

Obviously u r not understanding what I am getting at. I am talking about from the time people are young here they have opportunity with education, now you are talking about people who move here that are established adults.. Most time unless they are coming from mint that have it hard, only because of language barrier but also formal education if they were living in poverty.. That's why you see many foreign students that are in colleges because they luckily have enough cash to go to school off the back. Like u said laziness thrives I our communities and this will not change until we stop pointing fingers and making excuses. Opportunities are not geared towards a certain demographic, it's geared onwards people that create those opportunities.. Staying its geared at a certain demographic is an excuse and might as well say **** it I can't get those opportunities because its made for others...ignorant *** excuse

:pachaha: you high and mighty nikkas kill me.

fukk an excuse, you wanna know reality?

African immigrants are some of the most educated, yet the least employed immigrants in America. Is this cause they are "lazy" or "making excuses"?

It's well documented that black people are payed less regardless of educational backround. It's well documented that black people are charged more for loans and considered less for employment.

It's well documented that schools in the inner city are severely lacking resources, and are well behind schools in middle/upper class neighborhoods.

It's also true that political policy to this day is still driven by racism/classism.

You ignoring these realities allows you to feel justified in poking your chest out and looking down on people. But it doesn't make them any less real.

No one is denying that these "hindrances" exist but you don't think black people can be successful with them in place?

"oh my god your schools don't have the latest books and equipment, of course you can't be shyt in life"

"Oh my goodness, you get paid less than the white boy sitting next to you, of course you're not going to be able to make it in this world...I mean how could you?"

I think you're kidding yourself if you believe that having all of these things will equate to success in the black community.

Who said this? I'm black and successful, so I know it can happen. But we aren't talking about individual success here. We're talking about equal achievement as a whole. America will never have equal achievement without equal opportunity. It's simple mathematics.

"oh my god your schools don't have the latest books and equipment, of course you can't be shyt in life"
Never said this either. People can learn and achieve in schools without books and equipment, but it takes a special child to do so. Reality dictates that every child isn't special. Most people are average, schools with extra resources pull those average kids up, schools without resources leave them behind.

"Oh my goodness, you get paid less than the white boy sitting next to you, of course you're not going to be able to make it in this world...I mean how could you?"
:comeon: not this one either. What getting payed less does is it hinders you from doing more and providing more opportunities for your family/community. So where a white family can afford to put money away for his kids college and to send him to the best highschool. The black family is stuck paying for their more expensive mortgage while making less money, so they dont have the extra resources to pass on to their kids.

I think you're kidding yourself if you believe that having all of these things will equate to success in the black community.
:stopitslime: so who doesn't believe black people can succeed now?

News flash black people are succeeding. They do it every day. But if you are going to compare our success to another groups success then you also have to compare opportunities/resources.

I don't compare blacks to whites or any other race for matter because our circumstances are different.

I don't think we will EVER be on an equal playing fields as white people but that doesn't mean you have to be complacent hoping it will one day happen and that's what I see people doing. I think black people can succeed with what's available to us but if we keep waiting on equality, it's never going to happen.
