Arguments do not have to be bereft of emotion to be logical or make sense. One could argue that people saying LeBron is the goat is due to them having an emotional attachment to his journey in the NBA. That's certainly how I see it and why terms like Bronsexuals exist. Because his fans can't even acknowledge his short comings because of how emotionally attached they are to him either because of nostalgia or ignorance of his predecessors.

As someone who agrees Jordan is the GOAT, the exact same can be said about many Jordan fans. The nostalgia of it all has created a Jordan in their mind that didnt actually exist and no sane conversation can be had. Its why the narrative shifted to Jordan being someone who never lost even though he did. Or someone who’s acknowledged losses are treated like a hero’s journey, while LeBrons are treated like character flaws. Its why people hype up Kevin Love and diminish Dennis Rodman. Its why people call Lebron’s East weak but never mention how the only East teams to win the Title from 1987-2004 besides the Bulls were the Piston teams that smacked Mike around. Or the Finals record against LeBron while ignoring the strength of the teams that beat him in the Finals and ignoring that Jordan didnt have to face any Warriors type squads in the east OR West which is why in 6 Finals he played 5 different teams. Nobody dominated the West because there were no Steph Currys or Kevin Durants to rival Mike. Its all narrative and little fact in 95% of people’s arguments. And I believe Mike was the greatest. But to use silly anti-LeBron arguments to try to make that point is almost insulting to how great he was.
