:heh: I minored in Biology in college and studied upper division genetics. I'm sure I know more about it than you do.

What Africans are you comparing? East, South, or West? :comeon:

The average Nigerian born here in the US is bigger than most black people.

Both my parents are from Nigeria. I'm 6'3" 235 lbs and I am among the smallest in my generation when compared to most of my cousins, some who even grew up in Nigeria. I grew up with Emeka Okafor, Frank Okam, Russell Okung, and Brian Orakpo. Are these dudes small? If you come to Houston where there are a lot of Nigerians, you will know they are not small people.

I was thinking mostly Ghanian because of the British slave trade. And I wasn't saying everyone anywhere was larger or smaller.

We already know that genetics gives an athlete the tools with which they can cultivate athletic dominance. I'm not saying this is correct or incorrect, but being upset because black dominance in sports isn't being 100% attributed to hard work is ridiculous. Hard work begets dominance as far as natural, genetic talents will allow.

The largest British colony in West Africa was Nigeria, not Ghana. Ghana did have a place where the slaves were put on ships to the Americas, but most of those slaves were not from Ghana.

Two things.

1. Natural selection doesn't tend to produce noticeable changes over a few generations. If slavery was in place for hundreds years, you might be able to sell that story a little easier. That was a pretty uneducated statement for Johnson to make.

2. The angle of muscle insertion in black people tends to be shorter, allowing faster leg rotation. Read up on some kinesiology if you're interested, but there is a mechanical difference that accounts for black people's speed.

Yep..some of those mechanical differences include longer limbs in relation to torso, longer feet which increase surface area for running and jumping.

Higher concentration of fast twitch muscle fibers which generate more anaerobic power used in sprinting and other explosive movements. This also allow for increased muscle atrophy, power, and endurance.

I still get chills seeing that 200m final he set the W.R. in '96 but he's a fukking dumbass for this. Guess he just accepted his role as an "Uncle Tom" for the BBC.
