The lengths that many blacks go to not support other blacks is astounding. Many of you are "boycotting" this film on the basis that its main star dates non-black women. Yet, you fail to realize you could potentially be hurting the careers of a rising black director(Ryan Coogler) who is engaged to a black woman, and a black actress (Tessa Thompson) who is a big part of the film.

Non-black people don't withdraw support from one of their own entertainers simply based on something as ridiculous as the entertainer's dating choice. Certain Black Americans are failing to see the big picture yet again, which is what happens when you have a group of men following the lead of a bunch of bitter broads. :francis:

So you never went to the movies before :beli:

If you've even seen 1 movie your entire life, you've supported rich white men who aren't doing shyt for the black community. Yet you have a list of requirements for black actors to earn your dollar. Lunacy.

Basically if you've ever supported or consumed any kind of entertainment whatsoever(music, film, sports, porn, etc.), you've contributed to the finances of rich, likely bigoted, white men who do nothing for your community. These idiots will "boycott" a project built around Black people, while blindly supporting products that exclusively benefit White men.

Yo....I wasn't thinking about that either. You're completely right. Its so short sighted.

Especially when these same numb nuts will line up weekend after weekend to watch white movie stars.

It also ties back into how we demand things from black business owners but, go hand our money over to white, arab and asian proprietors like it's nothing. As if Steve, Akmed and Chang give a flying shyt about the Black community and Jamal is the evil guy only out for his self.

Nah....he wants to be an A-list actor. He wants to be in big budget action movies and superhero remakes just like white actors are. He doesn't want to be reduced to tiny budget urban comedy movies or urban romance movies just because he's a black dude. He wants to have that Will Smith lane. As long as he doesn't say anything foul....let him cook. I wish the brother success. I know if I started a business, I wouldn't just want to sell to blacks. It's not enough money. Too niche. I'd want white people to buy my products too, and I'd be marketing to them heavy. Sorry :dame:

Are you watching Scandal and did you watch Addicted to support black actresses?

Dudes, on here, will talk all the crap about Scandal and say that they don't wanna watch a bedwench appreciation show but get mad at black women for not wanting to support this?

I'm buying a ticket because I really enjoy Ryan Coogler (The Director).

Black women have the right to put their money behind actors who they feel support and appreciate them.

Lmao let Eve drop an album / movie and ask for support from the Coli and let's see how the Coli would react.

Tessa Thompson is cute, yet overrated...
Who, in your opinion, is underrated? :jbhmm:

I admit, I rolled my eyes when I saw she was playing the love interest (or so I assume), since there's always that brown skinned dude/light skinned woman coupling in Hollywood films/tv
And I didn't see Dear White People because it looked wack and I could see where it was going a mile away. But still:usure:Tessa Thompson is beyond cute. O, how I would simp thee:mjcry:

1. The reason why brothas dont watch shows like Scandal, or flicks like Addicted is, not that we dont feel supported or appreciated, its because, those are not our type of shows or movies.
Remove the wht male love intrest with a blk guy,and i still, most likey wont Watch...

2. How many sistas even knew Eve had an album??
Let alone the brothas?

From what i heard, the album suck.
Had it had some bangers, brothas would of gave it a chance.
Again, when Serena was going on a tear , yea there were some hoe nikkas. but for the most part, Brothas was 100% behind her.

Again, this feel supported or appreciated thing is because of his unapologetic love for wht women.
And i dont knock blk women for feeling a certain kind of way. For some sistas, its because they genuinely love black men, for others it's because, of Micheal B's fame.

But too boycott ? shyt is childish.
Cause the same one's crying over Micheal B's personal life, is lusting after pink peen.N I don't have an issue with that, just don't b a hypocrite.

They can always higher unambiguously black male actors, but they have a very hard time doing that for black female actors.

Right Now off Top, Teyonah Parris is very very very underrated.
Beauty, Grace, Confidence, Sex Appeal, Swag.
I low key luh dat chick.
If i was A famous athlete, actor, artist. I would definitely put my bid in. An urgent bid, FAWK DAT.

And Dear White Ppl, is a very good flick, there's alot of gems in it.
Such a coincidence that both Tessa and Teyonah were in that same flick.

Who cares if you don't like it? We're supposed to support each other? You're actively not supporting a black actress when you don't watch the show.

What's the difference? You're doing it because you're uninterested, black women are doing it for their own reasons, etc.

And who cares that some black men supported Serena too? There are plenty of black women who are gonna support this movie too but the ones that don't have every right not to.

You can't say that it's bad to boycott because we need to support each other even if we mess up and then say "Well, Scandal / Addicted just doesn't ring with me so I don't support it".

Hell, you got nikkas who won't go see Tyler Perry movies and talked shyt about that nikka all the time. Do you make sure to see every TP movie?

Let's be fair here, @IWunD3r

Well who fault is that?
If Blk woman put that same energy, that was displayed in attempting to destroy A black man, in Micheal B. And instead, aimed that energy towards the holly wood big wig, and demanded that darker complexion blk women get better opportunities, then maybe, just maybe things would change.

When Lupita had the game on lock, her biggest haters were other blk women.:sas2:

But back to the regularly schedule program, of keeping y'all heels, on blk men's necks.

Everything you just wrote is complete and utter nonsense.

@bcrusaderw or whatever your name is, you negged me. I guess I got under your skin, you fat greasy broad. How the hell did I get negged by a troll? :heh:

@MalikReloaded @IWunD3r @Maximus

Do y'all consistently support Scandal and make sure Olivia Pope is top in ratings to support black actresses?

I don't watch Scandal because I'm not interested in the show, and I barely watch television outside of sports. I will never refuse to support something based on someone's dating preferences.

I was talking to an actor, light skinned brother with light blue eyes. He was telling me how he lost out on a role for this ABC show to a brown skinned dude an I was just like:ehh: "I can see that".

If he'd been a woman, though, I would have been like :ohhh:. It's fukked up, but yes, that's how it is. My mother acts, too, and 90% of casting calls she sees are calling for white/Asian/ethnically ambiguous:mjpls:

I know about it because she shows me the emails. Mind, we're both light, but very sensitive to this shyt. It's always been there to a degree, but it's more blatant now. Look at black movies in the 90s compared to now....

Black women have every right to say:pacspit: 98% of Hollywood movies and the men who don't use their platform to look out for their supposed sisters.
