Have him defeat others boxers and become the champion. Let him become the king of boxing and have Dame/Adonis fight at the end of creed 3 and have the rematch in creed 4

It's actually a good thing the boxing is BS....you can include that anime shyt he was trying to do and other things.

It was pretty good, entertaining enough.

As a hardcore boxing fan there were some things in this movie that was like not even possible. As a whole this movie was ..

I wish they had Damien box in prison. All he said was “I stay in shape”. It would still be far fetched for him to be that good after 18 years, but at least it would add a little more believability.

All the boxers who fought in prison and became really good were younger and took awhile to become good as pros, except for James Scott, who beat a legit top fighter (Eddie Muhammad) in Rahway prison.

I also doubt the sanctioning bodies wouldn’t sanction that as a title fight, crooked as they are. That was a joke in Great White Hype when Samuel L. Jackson bribes Cheech’s Jose Suliaman character to rate Conklin.

My wife looked at him as the mean villain. I understood where he was coming from

I felt they had to have the scene of him sending his prison friend to fukk up Drago, and then him punching Adonis in the face, just to make sure fans root against him.

Seeing a packed Dodger Stadium reminded me how stupid it was not to have the Mayweather vs Pacquiao in a similar stadium

I miss seeing big fights in huge arenas too, but the biggest fights tend to be in Vegas because of the money the casinos can bid.

A bigger arena makes all the money from the ticket sales, but casinos have other forms of revenue. They raise the price of the rooms, they have all these high rollers gambling, and they end up being able to outbid the larger seated arenas.

As others mentioned it’s a little bit of a reach but it is grounded in some reality:

Scott was really good. That was historically one of the strongest eras ever at light heavyweight and he was a top contender. SB Nation wrote a good article on him a few years ago.

Eddie Mustafa Muhammad was really good and Scott gave him a beating at Rahway. Dwight Qawi also did time at Rahway before beating Scott in a fight at the prison, and then became LHW champ.

That’s why I thought they should have had Dame box in prison, rather than just “staying in shape”. It could have made it a little less far fetched.

Yep Adonis had pro fights. He just didn't have fights against top contenders to justify a title shot.

He beats Gabriel Rosado’s character, that guy from the same gym who’s supposed to be a top contender, before facing Conlan. The fight scene with the great tracking shot.

it was rushed like crazy. we needed to see some kinda montage of him beating up people after/before fighting lopez/mbj.

at least in the original rocky, rocky was an amateur boxer who had been training while trying to hold down a regular job.
