doggy, Chalmers is damn near 30 years old. He is what he is at this point, he isnt getting any better.

Exactly. Who would want to trade for a streaky (at best), 30 year old PG on one knee who make 4 million? It's very unlikely we will find someone without giving up a pick or younger player.

@MIAlien WCS stock is falling because he has a foot problem and his offense is horrible. I'd rather have Myles Turner if we gonna take a Center
WCS is infinitely better than Turner, and this foot stuff could be pure pre-draft bullshyt. It hadn't come up until now.

But I'm almost sure he won't be there at 10 anyway.

@MIAlien we need athletes on the wings not babbitt/Dunleavy caliber players
The team desperately needs 3 point shooting and those two provide that. They have athletes. They need spacing & shooting.

What athletes do we have? On the wings (including our own FA's) we're looking at Wade, Deng, Ennis, TJ, Henry Walker?

I'd rather go after a 3 and D guy like Dorrell Wright, we dont need anymore stiffs

Ennis and Deng are good athletes.

Edit: None of those guys are good 3 point shooters. The team needs at least 1 at the 2/3 to go along with McBob, Bosh, and Dragic.

If WCS is there we gotta take him, assuming Stanley isn't available at 10.
He's 7'; athletic, plays defense, and may be a consistent mid range shooter.
He can be in our rotation from day one and can be Whiteside's replacement if he walks.

Did you see Deng on the fast break last year :mjlol:
Deng is declining athletically, but he scores using his athleticism and finishes well at the basket.
I saw Deng score inside using his strength, size, and quickness.

A shooter that can space the floor is the answer. Babbitt would open up the lane for Wade, Deng, and Dragic.

I like Deng but he's not really a great finisher. He's smart and strong so he makes it work but he's very stiff plus he's not a great "fast paced" player.

Deng being a consistent defender for all the big wings is his biggest advantage. Dude can guard the 1-3 if needed and he won't complain ever.

That's valuable right now when we're seeing guys like Butler, George, Lebron, and all these big and strong 2s and 3s hanging around.

And isn't it sad that our best three point shooter is our PF? Bosh was almost forced to provide spacing on the floor because of how bad Cole, Chalmers, Granger, and Wade were from 3. Either him or Williams (Who I also liked).

Boggles my mind that we didn't keep Dawkins because he'd have been perfect

No meeting currently scheduled between Wade, Heat
Ira Winderman South Florida Sun Sentinel contact the reporter
Moment of truth draws closer for Riley, Wade
Heat trying to make fiscal sense of Wade contract
Wade and Riley mum, except when it comes to deal-making
Despite reports to the contrary, a source familiar with the situation told the Sun Sentinel on Monday night that there currently is no meeting scheduled between Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat as the clock ticks toward Wade's Monday opt-in deadline. :dead:

In the wake of a previous ESPN report of such a meeting, a source close to the process said no such meeting between Wade and Pat Riley or other members of the Heat front office has been set.

Wade creates a 'tense' moment when discussing Heat

The source said any meeting with Wade would be more likely to come after the July 1 start of free agency, since the Heat are not allowed to discuss contract parameters until then.

For Wade's part, his representatives said he will bypass his annual media sessions at the adult basketball camp he is hosting this week at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hollywood.

Wade has a $16.1 million option on his contract that must be decided next week, with the All-Star guard otherwise to become a free agent on July 1.

Both Wade and Heat forward Luol Deng hold June 29 "opt-in" deadlines. If they do not make any moves by then, each then would enter free agency. Instead of having to formally opt out, the two can determine their free agency by merely taking no action by midnight Monday.

Among the Heat's options with Wade are extending a one-year maximum contract of $23.5 million for next season. Such a move would trigger a significant luxury tax for owner Micky Arison.

As the Sun Sentinel previously reported, such a tax hit could be mitigated with trades of point guard Mario Chalmers and/or center Chris Andersen. ESPN is reporting the Heat are making trade overtures regarding both. In each case, the Heat would be looking to avoid taking any guaranteed salary in return.

The Heat have remained mum on their personnel issues to the point of bypassing their annual pre-draft media session, with no one from the team's scouting department scheduled to be made available in advance of Thursday's NBA Draft, with the Heat holding the No. 10 selection.

  • @MHchamps So he is politely saying they lied to him 3 times and wishes them all the best. Is this all the dirt you have to say that he'd be bad in the locker room and he does damage off the court. Just say you don't like him. Don't create a false representation about someone...

If Wade, 33, either bypasses his opt-in or accepts a one-year deal this offseason, he then would be able to sign a three-year contract with the Heat in the 2016 offseason without the Heat incurring an additional salary-cap hit from the NBA's "over-36" contract rule. Players are eligible to sign three-year contracts at any age without then having future money accounted back into the salary cap in earlier seasons.

Agent Henry Thomas told the Sun Sentinel three weeks ago that he expected upcoming contract discussions with the Heat in advance of Wade's option deadline.

"We'll just have to see how things continue to develop with the Heat," he said.

Amid Wade-Heat tension, '#HEATLifer' remains part of team's brand positioning

Heat center Chris Bosh, another Thomas client, last year signed a five-year, $118 million contract with the Heat in the wake of LeBron James' free-agent departure to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Wade at the time agreed to a shorter deal, affording the Heat greater flexibility on the 2014 free-agent market.

That had Thomas noting during these Wade talks, "Several guys opted out of their contract last year. Obviously Dwyane wasn't in a position that Chris was in, in terms of having another team offer a maximum deal. But the reality of this is he's played his entire career for Miami. He's done wonderful things in terms of the five titles that they played for, winning three of them. He's had a tremendous career, and we're just trying to see whether or not there's room to continue that."

Wade has been linked to potential interest from the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks, with outside teams prohibited from contact until July 1.

Is it safe to say we'll take Stanley if he's available?
Also who do we get if he's off the board?
