Why does he have to do that? He's negotiating. That's between him and the team and there's almost nothing he shouldn't do to ensure he gets paid what he wants. Fans should understand that and quit crying about HOW he's doing it when they're only mad that he's actually doing it, no matter how it's done.

And the roster problems are Riley's fault. He's not planning for the future. He isn't valuing the draft enough for that to be so. And if Wade is gone, unless Riley strikes gold with the 10th pick, and/or signs KD, the future looks iffy until he steps down. He doesn't have a young core and he isn't building one. So what he's doing isn't planning for the future. It's planning for a shot at KD.
Just say it when talking to Riley. I imagine that they talk regularly. Ain't a hard thing to say I want a good deal for what the market is. I don't care that he wants his value. He should want that. No need to bring that out in public. If you have an issue with someone just settle it with that person. Riley ain't building for 5-10 years ahead because he's trying to get another with Wade and bosh. If he looks that far ahead he's gotta plan for the next title team not having Wade and he doesn't want that. Wade passed up cash to try to help LeBron out last summer and got left to dry. No need to take that out on the guy trying to build our next championship team. They're both smart guys and I'm sure they'll resolve this next week.
rumor that
  • Heat and Wade are meeting this week prior to draft
  • Heat are trying to trade Chalmers and/or Birdman for money for Wade
He's close to done but I don't want bird to go. He's our bird. Hate to see a crowd favorite like him go.

Mick was always paying the tax. Only cases of him saving cash was trading the warden away since it saved $10 million (since he doesn't play I can see the reasoning), and mike miller. I didn't think using the amnesty on miller was a good move but with taxes he was costing over $10 million too and since he didn't play much and was always hurt it didn't seem like it'd be a bad choice. Nobody expected him to play 82 games in 2013-14.

Not trying to tell a man what to do with his money.
But i sure Micky can send Wade on a vacation where a briefcase of cash ends up mistakenly being misplaced in Wade's hotel room/cabin .
Just saying:yeshrug:

Wade County
Ya'll gotta stop this nonsense. Again, the only reason Wade isnt already locked in to a contract making 20 mil next year is because of his loyalty to his friend. Now they want Riley to pay the price. If Wade was out there giving it his all every night, not sitting out 20 games, we aren't even having a discussion right now.

I'd rather roll with Ennis/rookie
As if Riley didn't ask Wade to opt out so he could make moves. Wade did what he did to help the team at the insistence of Riley. And this isn't about next year. It's about the next 2 or 3 years after that. Wade wants long term security now. He wants that last Jeter deal before he retires. The Heat just want him on that Dirk/Duncan type deal, but Dirk and Duncan have made $100 million more than Wade has because they didn't give discounts in their prime.

Also, the team needs a veteran at the 2/3, because Wade and Deng could miss 20-30 combined and they'll need a wing that can actually start games. Ennis isn't good enough to play heavy minutes. If they draft Stanley or Dekker, then they can play quality minutes, but they'll still need another wing. Dunleavy or Babbitt for the MMLE would be good options if they could get them.

In a perfect world, WCS falls to them at 10 in the draft, and they trade Birdman for a 2nd rounder or a trade exception.

@MIAlien WCS stock is falling because he has a foot problem and his offense is horrible. I'd rather have Myles Turner if we gonna take a Center

the consensus is, 'da knees! da knees!' in both the body of the article and in the comments of the miami herald sports page link. should be an interesting earth-shattering week.

Linda Robertson: It’s crunch time for Miami Heat and Dwyane Wade

Read more here: http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/s...-robertson/article25089130.html#storylink=cpy

  • Could get ugly, like any other divorce. Heat fans are already taking sides, arguing that Wade’s unreliable knees aren’t worth the risk, that no other team will give him what he wants, that the concept of compensating him for his 12 years of service is hogwash. Their favorite cliché: This is a business.

  • Keep Wade and gamble that his knees won’t deteriorate further, and that the combination of Wade, Whiteside, Bosh and Dragic will be successful, even though Bosh and Dragic have not yet played a minute together and Whiteside remains a work in progress.

  • But one thing is clear: If Wade wants to stay, Riley and the Heat need to find a way to keep him. Bad knees or not,

Dwyane Wade Sent a Naughty Selfie to His Manager, and Now He Has His Own Underwear Line

Please ignore the awkward fact that Wade never technically "threepeated."

Dwyane Wade already has his own lines of ties and shoes, and pretty soon he'll have his own underwear line too. Essentially, Wade will be providing everything a particularly classy male stripper needs in his wardrobe.

Wade is the new face of Naked underwear and will launch his own signature collection with company in 2016. But how did the upstart skivvies brand nab an NBA superstar? Through the power of scantily clad selfies, naturally.

"Dwyane, believe it or not, found us," Carole Hochman, CEO of Naked Brand Group, told the Street. "His wife brought him a pair of Naked underwear. He put it on and that's what began the whole process. He put it on and took a selfie, sent it to his manager and said, 'Find this company'."

Soliciting business deal through pictures of you in your underwear: not just for fashion models anymore!

Wade will serve as the lead spokesman for the company's "Role Models." He'll also join the company's advisory board and serve as creative director of his own line to debut next year.

"I am very excited to partner with a brand that celebrates individuality and authenticity," Wade said in a statement. "What you wear underneath is the foundation for how you look and feel. Naked is taking innerwear to the next level and I look forward to helping them build the brand and the business."

A collection of Wade's favorite undies, if you ever wanted to know.

Naked is known for it's soft and seamless undies, and a two-pack of boxer briefs starts at $40.

A selection of Wade's favorites are already being hawked on the website, and Wade himself makes an appearance, though fully dress. He'll be an underwear mogul, not an underwear model.
