If he wants to wear heat colors he can't be asking for the Kobe contract. Not when he's missing 20 games a year and not being the player he used to be. League structure doesn't allow contenders to pay players like that. Like it or not, at 33 going on 34 Wade can't be a max contract player on a title team. Riley doesn't overpay for past services and certainly doesn't do cat and mouse or play a game of chicken through his people. It's getting ugly no doubt. Bron went and fukked this whole team up to its core last summer. Heat gotta pay him well but he can't be acting like LeBron has since the 2014 finals ended putting himself above the team. Riley has to think about the future of the whole team and building a contender that can win titles again soon. I want 3 on our next title team but he can't ask for max money and expect it here.
He's definitely worth more here than anywhere else but the Kobe contract cripples this team in the long term. Takes them out of the running next summer. I highly doubt they started by offering under ten when he made sixteen just last year. If anything I'm guessing that's a bluff. Same as 2008 when Ray Lewis hit the market the Ravens paid more I'm sure than anyone else would have. Just handle it professionally and I got faith they'll do right by him. They didn't need to offer bosh THAT much last summer because that's an issue right now. At least they aren't throwing another one of those at dragon. Lots of guys left to pay and this still leave the issue of wing defense, speed, and three point shooting.
