This fight to me is about how good is JCCjr really? Especially when motivated. He has the physical advantages. I give him a decent chance. I am also shamefully rooting for him. He isnt the better fighter thats for sure, but I dont see them on different levels. If JCCjr can mix in good boxing (he has some skills) with brawling/bullying he can win. He cant just do one though. He cant just box or just brawl.

well, I was wrong about this. I dont know why junior was even in there. that was such a disappointing display. was he scared? :what: just dont get why he wouldnt let hands go. the guy that was fighting Lemeiux gave an effort. I dont know what that was that junior was doing.

note: I was extremely sleepy so after watching 6 rounds of junior doing nothing, I went to bed. :stopitslime:

sn: I still think Canelo will be GGG but he wont be able to get away with some of the stuff he was doing last night like those wide hooks.

Nacho: Chavez Jr. Was Afraid To Let His Hands Go on Canelo

"It was really negative, everything, totally, we did not win a round. It is not possible to cover the sun with a finger, Canelo Alvarez is simply better technically speaking," Nacho said to ESPN Deportes.

"I asked him to throw punches, simply to throw punches but he was afraid to throw a jab or a certain combination because he knew that three or four punches would come back in return, and those doubts were born in his head real early and they stayed with him for the entire fight."

"[I don't blame the fans for being frustrated with is performance], they are quite right in feeling that way, and I feel the same way too, and he must also be frustrated, his father too, everyone. He should apply himself and he should behave like a boxing pro and success will come to him." - See more at: Nacho: Chavez Jr. Was Afraid To Let His Hands Go on Canelo - Boxing News

:CaneLMFAO: at nacho pretty much callin Jr a bytch ass ho. I already knew they would end up blaming each other. Canelo killed 2 birds with one stone last night. Nacho and Jr both hated on him for years. Made em both down and kiss the rang:CaneloRejoice:

Nacho just clowned this dude:mjlol:

97g slow ass combos are easily neutralized with movement...

See Danny Jacobs and Kell Brook...

The only question I have regarding Canelo is can he handle this guys power cuz that's really the only thing 97g has...Dude hits hard and that has to be respected...Canelo has a habit of pinning himself on the ropes, he does that on purpose but against this generic euro HBO hype job can crusher it would be best to avoid the ropes entirely...Dude simply hits too hard to let him swing on you trying to set him up with a counter fighting off the ropes...

Neither Kell Brook nor Jacobs did it exceptionally well IMO, but it probably won't matter in this fight because canelo has never been fleet of foot.

Anyways, I noticed that Brook and Jacobs both lacked decent enough head movement, and got caught with a lot of shots that I can see Canelo avoiding/slipping with ease.

Also, imagine Canelo landing some of the combos Brook connected with? Its true that Alavarez doesn't have one punch KO power, but I've seen enough of his fights to understand that he possesses enough power to make his opponents respect it.

That being said, there ain't much that can stop Golovkin when he commits to coming forward. If Canelo finds a way to survive/counter those spurts, I can see him winning.

All 97g landed on Jacobs with any success was the jab...

His power punches were catching air...

and since when has Danny Jacobs been "fleet of foot"? :what:

This is getting beyond ridiculous now, all son did in that fight was keep his legs moving and utilize his size advantage...Yes Canelo doesn't move like Danny because he's a different caliber fighter but he's not a fukking stiff punching bag like the 36 cans on 97g resume...Canelo doesn't have to move like Danny to be effective because he does multiple other things to slip punches Danny doesn't do...Footwork in boxing is all about positioning yourself to slip punches and beat your opponent to the punch...Canelo does that exceptionally well...

He has only struggled with guys who are fleet of foot because he's not good at chasing and doesn't cut the ring off...but that's not 97g...97g is a stiff who comes forward and eats punches...The guy is tailor made for Canelo strengths...

As for your combos question, Canelo is by far a better combination puncher than both of them and he's got quicker hands...The punch Danny was landing most effectively and even knocked 97g back with it a couple of times was the uppercut which just so happens to be Canelo's go to...This brings us back to footwork and positioning...most of us have been saying this for months now, 97g is going to be plodding into and eating those uppercuts like a fat kid at a free big mac giveaway...Canelo is exceptionally good at luring his opponent in and setting up that right uppercut...

Case and point...

That gif isn't all upper-body and reflexes...He set it all up with his feet, if his feet aren't positioned properly that straight right hand tags his chin...

Hopefully this post deads this idiotic belief Danny Jacobs moves like Ali and Canelo can't slip punches because he doesn't dance around nikkas...

Damn you salty like I'm some GGG Stan that you've been arguing with for years now.:russ:

You make a lot of good points, but fact is Danny still got knocked down and was roughed up by a physically smaller fighter. He was too willing to trade with Golovkin, and it's what ultimately cost him the fight, which is why I said he didn't do it exceptionally well.

Like I said, you make a lot of good points, especially about the footwork :obama: but there's no way that this fight will be as easy as you're making it seem for Canelo. There's going to be a lot of give and take for as long as the fight lasts.

I'm just sitting over here looking at that Cotton gif thinking 'its pretty, but I ain't forget how much success Cotto had with his jab...'

I got my money on Nelo, but I ain't discrediting GGG for the same reason imma be giving Canelo props for beating him.

One thing I remember distinctly was after every round nacho would be telling Chavez to let them hands go, over and over and over, and going into the last round, he completely gave up tryna tell him anything and was like "OK last round ":francis:
