Dirty harry made blends. He dont have an entire channel of fake blends promoted as new songs exclusive to HIS channel conplete with stolen videos badly synced to appear more than they are. He isnt saying “cooking soul” cant make remixes on his channel with his own beats. Mariah carey the roof remixes. None are real. They are freestyles on top of her song. Noone is talking about that. THATS HIP HOP.The concept of what he's talking about has existed long before YouTube. Blends weren't just putting songs over different beats, even though that would count as far as who's being paid, and authorization, for his gripe. For some DJs that's what they specialized in, but for others they also included cut/copy and paste random official verses put together and labeled as new songs. All those artists that used to complain that such and such "stole their vocals from song...". There just weren't videos for it, and they weren't accessible as easily for everyone to where the fake version was more known than the official. People pointed out Napster tracks for comparisons. I've always called them fake collabos...same ish meth called them or Copy n paste fakes
Someone doing it via YouTube is still no different than that random DJs acquiring verses of already produced songs and mixing them up, changing the beat, calling it something else, and putting it out officially unofficial. And the way to fight it is still the same, C&D them. Or get them shut down with muscle, like they did with the random DJs. Or they can promote the real song/verse.
It was on FB and I can't seem to link to it here. He has a really good point. These videos have hundreds of thousands of views each and countless comments from people who don't realise they're just blends with videos attached. And shyt ones at that.
METHOD MAN said:I don’t know why this is a thing.. but I hate the fact that ppl do these unauthorized remakes of records with fake collabs .. this guy I asked him a long time ago to take this trash down as it takes views away from the original content.. and he still has yet to do so.. over 200 mil views and not one penny to the creators.. no one takes into account the time and effort it takes to even make these records let along get these records, put out into the public for someone to come and do half the work and get twice if not quadruple the views of the original content.. whatever happened to IP rights..? Whenever I sample a record I have to inform the original creators and ask for permission to do so.. what makes YouTube any different? I am pretty sure you guys have seen a lot of these fake remixes but a lot of people don’t know they’re fake. I’ve heard my voice on beats I would never rhyme to.. and a lot of times the verses are offbeat..
this is what we call hack shyt and I don’t respect it .. the main culprits are south central channel , golden age hip hop , and New Yorks finest to name a few.. and the person responsible for this piece of work Dj Skandalous actually reached out to make things right.. my reply was take the video down.. as you can see the video was never taken down.. he informed me though that he makes no money off of the video. My reply is then you should have no problem taking it down… but I guess it looks like he does.. so I’ll just leave this here and let the fans be the judge.. am I wrong for standing up or should I just sit down and shut the f*** up?
let me give you examples because some of you keep talking about blends. That's NOT what Meth is talking about. The concept of what he's talking about has existed long before YouTube. No.Method starts to sound bitter
Complaining on the festival audience, Spotify income, fake channels.
Dude said like a few weeks ago he never saw a dime from Spotify, if the issue is money he should deal with Spotify before dealing with some goofy fake channelsNo.
Fake channels is a real problem. You've seen them? There are fake news gossip pages with headlines saying crazy shyt like rapper A being sent to prison for life or rapper B getting shot, etc. Which never happened.
Then those lame ass channels using rappers material to mess up the algorithm and give the audience music that rappers can't make money from. Those channels don't care about rappers and they most likely profit via fan donations, etc. fukk them.
