If you don't understand this you're probably younger than 40.

By age 40 you have a wife, children, a career, yard work, car work, bills, debts, health choices, etc.

I'd be more disappointed if he said they still hang every day like it's 2001. I'd be like "well damm maybe the rumors are true".

Its not that he said they don’t hang out its the way he framed it, like they always just been business partners.

People forget to method tried to get red the bag on power but read didn't want to get vaccinated. Also red is one of those "new born again christians" so I can see why he can't hang out with "rappers". My thing I'm curious about is what is the real fall out between him and E dubb.

See i didn't know he was born again...

Being a Christian have you cutting all your old friends off because they're "worldly".

It's not like they grew up together. Them nikkas were grown ass men when they met, and were put together by Def Jam as a promotional tool because they both had ",Man" in their names. It's probably always just been a business relationship from the jump :yeshrug:

I feel this but it's may be slightly off.

It may or may not have been pure promotion, but after connecting they had common interests. Rap and smoking.

I'm pretty sure that when they begun to smoke less...it gradually went to just music. And hip hop rap is about dead so there's no money for them. So what do they have for friendship?

Life happens. I haven't talked to my best friend in over a decade.

:troll:

A couple years ago, I tried getting back in touch with a close friend from high school. She found out I was reaching out, sent goons after me, and now, I can't walk past my high school without thinking about two Puerto Rican guys grabbing me and me telling them to get off.

Maybe Redman went through that with his rapper friends. :troll:

These guys are 50, don't live near each other, have families, have their own business ventures, and people think they hang out like college buddies. Older people tend to spend more time at home and I'd imagine famous older people don't really like being out too much.

Most of these rappers y'all think are friends are more business associates.

Kinda random but I swear years ago I read someone say you were in a wheelchair. I wondered if that was true or not. Glad to finally have confirmation that your legs work :mjlol:

For some bizarre reason people thought I was Hex Murda, who is in a wheelchair.

Erick Sermon just said the same recently.

He said he barely sees and speaks to Redman and Keith Murray, but he understands the fans think that rappers are best friends and hang out all the time, but it's not like that. People have families and mad sh*t going on now. It's not like it was when dudes were in their early 20's.

I could see that because there are some industry people that seem inseparable (Eminem/Dre/50 will be best friends forever). But I guess if you're not working with these artists constantly and hanging out in the studio, the friendship suffers. Nas and Salaam Remi were probably twins at some point, but I doubt they were speaking much during the Hit-Boy era.

It's the reason Cole and Kendrick never put out that joint album. They got too busy with their careers, starting families, and now, they probably won't speak again until Drake's funeral.

absolutely. I actually had to learn how to be a good friend. this thread is actually making me cry because i am thinking about how i was a trash friend as a kid. i moved around a few times so you know how that goes. at first I just accepted whoever first comes along as a friend. then the cool kids want to come around so I go with them just to say i am cool too. then the first friends come back and be like "you ditched us".... this actually happened twice. like, i was literally a fukkin movie character as a kid (chick from mean girls) and it's very upsetting to look back on. i was so misguided and it hurts to know that i hurt others and myself cuz they were actually cool people looking back, even if they weren't in the cool crowd.

so i am proud of how far i have come with friendships. these are the people i actually chose as friends as an adult so i am glad to do my part to foster the relationship. and it pays off cuz they keep me close too. it also seems to be that way with my fam too. my parents always tell me i am the one keeping the fam together, by texting, calling, visiting, having holidays at my home, sharing the wealth, being there in times of need, etc. everybody else barely interacts with each other. its so wild to me, but i know everybody in my fam basically has a very quiet/guarded demeanor (me too) so i try not to think too hard about it lol
I’ve been there myself, just mindless to the effect my choices could have on others. But when you make the change it’s hard to go back.

I’m proud of you lol continue the journey

This is 100% true though. They've both said this way back in the past. I don't think they have any issues with one another they just older.

If it’s a falling out then shyt happens but at the surface I’m taking it as they are older now and don’t have the time to hang out and do the things they used to do
