Essentially, they're blends. However, would these younger folks even know to call them blends? But even a lot of those blend tapes and tracks from yesteryear weren't referred to as such, and you wouldn't know until you actually listened.

If they're monetizing it, get it shut down. But I guess it also depends on who's doing it.

A producer using someone else's vocals over their beat is the same thing rappers do when they rap over someone else's beat

It's the beatmakers version of making a mixtape, it should be able to work both ways, (not to mention rappers already have an egregious history of saying fukk the owner and putting out stuff before it's cleared anyway)

Wayne built a legacy off of it and no one said a word

Also meth might need to check if those channels are actually making bread off of those, alot of times the label will stop it from being monetized and he may just not know

Ahh,that cruel unforgiving loop:respect:

I was initially hyped to see all this because I figured it would teach old heads how to game the algorithm with posse cuts. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened yet.

The odd part is he’s the most in touch out the Wu really. He’s always collaborating with the newer Hip Hop acts and doing his thing.

Yea I don't even check new GFK music and he's one of my GOATs.....I saw he working a lot with necro 2.0 don't know the name :scust:

I don’t think I agree with Meth on this one ..if this way of thinking was always the way or forced into action it’s so many blend tapes back in the day that wouldn’t be possible..DJ Juice , Dirty Harry used to do 90 minutes of blends..

I can’t imagine this not existing.

Idk why so many replies are not understanding what hes speaking about.

Reading is fundamental.

Yall talking about blends. Thats not what hes talking about at all.
you've got to realize what you're dealing with when you're talking with fans of music in the top 40 from rappers that sound like they can barely read on a 3rd grade level. Meth easily explained what he's talking about and people keep talking about blend tapes and remixes as if that's what he's referring to.

Mixtapes were shut down for that shyt remember that? All the big DJ's got raided by feds. Then came mixtape albums with new songs not. These guys are probably making money. They don't get copyright hits.

The concept of what he's talking about has existed long before YouTube. Blends weren't just putting songs over different beats, even though that would count as far as who's being paid, and authorization, for his gripe. For some DJs that's what they specialized in, but for others they also included cut/copy and paste random official verses put together and labeled as new songs. All those artists that used to complain that such and such "stole their vocals from song...". There just weren't videos for it, and they weren't accessible as easily for everyone to where the fake version was more known than the official. People pointed out Napster tracks for comparisons. I've always called them fake collabos...same ish meth called them or Copy n paste fakes

Someone doing it via YouTube is still no different than that random DJs acquiring verses of already produced songs and mixing them up, changing the beat, calling it something else, and putting it out officially unofficial. And the way to fight it is still the same, C&D them. Or get them shut down with muscle, like they did with the random DJs. Or they can promote the real song/verse.

I thought I was the only one. Them mashups be trash as fukk and then the producers make it seem like it just came out. Im a producer too and that shyt just dumb. They monetize them and upload the playlists. Nah, that ain't it. If I do something like where I take vocals and make my own beat to it, I make it clearly known in the title and description and add the link to my production and turn off monetization.
