What do yall rate this

9/10 for me

And yall can come back to this after you finish the game…

I feel like Louis wasn’t carefully fleshed out (pause). I liked him until about the big climatic middle part where he ends up getting the best of you and the church. but i thought he had a better plan at the end then all out survival of the fittest/sephiroth style anarchy. His motivations just didn’t end up making a lot of sense. When the main party confronts him about why he’s doing it and how stupid it is i feel like he had no reasonable retort. He basically did the equivalent to “sony stans :mjlol:“ and said let’s fight. For someone that is supposed to be highly intelligent and in clear mind it just didn’t really fit the character but it felt like they wrote themselves into a corner and needed that big final boss confrontation

As for the characters, i think i got kind of bored of them by the end. People like Heismay and Bastillio have good character arch’s but people like Junah just feel like this games Annne Takamaki. Just very stupid shallow storyline about signing like Anne’s modeling side story.

I think the entire last 3rd of the game kind of runs out of steam. By the time you get your last month, it feels like the 4th disc syndrome where you’re just kind of ready for it to end. Ugly dark sky, optional content to go do, conclusions to side quests, etc. but it last way too long. Then you have another lengthy prologue that honestly isn’t that satisfying. You’re now king but you’re gonna leave your kingdom which is just now starting to prosper again because you’re bored? Well ok…i guess that was all for nothing then

I need to finish it, so my score may change bjt is give it an 8.5/10 for now.

Still need to see how the story wraps up, but it had decent pacing and kept me interested throughout. Some themes and story arcs were surprisingly mature and felt refreshing.

However, like a lot of JRPGs combat wise it tends to wear out its welcome towards the end. Some of these later optional fights become puzzles more so than anything. Kinds takes away from the feeling of going in and surviving/figuring it out on the fly.

Also not a lot of enemy variety. coming from persona that has like 200 enemies, this only has the 40 or so. Probably because they had to animate entirely new stuff by hand and have them out in the field unlike persona.

In persona you are encountering new enemy types well into the last month, but this kind of taps out early

That enemy count is pathetic. I'll wait for the sale.

Spoilers for a late game cutscene involving the antagonist

did this fool just toss some fake horns on the ground after sonning the king's force ghost? Like as a child he went out and bought some fake horns and periodically been updating them to be larger as he grew older. He really ran a long con.

Sheesh. I packed up the final boss quick. I don't even know what it does :wow:

The amount of exp in the final zone is crazy. Went from 71 to 80 and got enough MAG to unlock the full board on the main character.

Got the helmet frome More that gives another half action and the sword with 500 attack that prevents anxiety. I'm guessing that was the gimmick in the last fight but I wouldn't know :wow:. Used the Prince move that gives another 4 turns and gave Strohl 2 turns, one to concentrate and then another for Hassou Kobe after getting charged by Junah. Each hit was doing 2500 damage a piece :damn:

I ain't even have to use the 9999 nuke which I had in the back pocket. I brought that out with the 3 headed boss.

This shyt was a massacre in all 3 rounds :noah:

Game is classic and maybe top 3 games Atlus made as a total package.

Only thing that let me down was how the archetypes system works. More to do with how much exp you naturally get and how switching to a higher tier class put you back at square one. They should have let you carry a few moves over and then they evolve at certain levels. You can just stay on the mastered class and collect the a-exp material but honestly that shyt was very unrewarding and tedious to do. I wanna level up from playing, not in a damn menu. Would have liked to play these different classes and level up naturally and at reasonable pace.

it kind of compounds the tedium when they give you the royal archetypes that are clearly the best of the best of everything and then they still want you to level the other ones on top of it. It makes the rest of your effort redundant

Worth full price. Haven't beaten it yet but I don't think they'll do a Royal like release with this one

Getting your money's worth is never an issue with Atlus games
