Something about this remake looks kind of bland.

Doesn’t have that Kojima aesthetic to it
:francis:I mean these remakes are probably going to be the only things. That’s going to keep the MGS series relevant. Deep down we all knew Konami wasn’t taking any risks. Capcom they’re not lol

Yeah, I’d rather get this than play those half assed remasters i guess.

But i just know if kojima was attached this game would not be presented this way. Like it’s some kind of fan-made thing that looks like a proof of concept still. Absolutely no style.

I guess its the same complaint people have with some bluepoint games losing the essence of the originals, but even still they presented the games like big AAA titles.

Someone in resetera showed one reason why it may feel kinda off.

I feel like the colors are just a bit too neutral. The original had a much warmer palette.

Slider Comparison

Bottom picture evokes MGS3 for me alot more.

Plus the mgs/snake eater music is no where to be heard.

I was gonna post that, yeah, the entire presentation of the game just doesn’t scream metal gear

its weird to me that Kojima completely switched engines from MGSV to Death Stranding and the latter still kind of retained the aesthetic almost to a T.

Looks good but they better update the gameplay.

Don't know how to feel about the music at the end, specially the guitar part...

Outer Heaven
visually looks great but also Generic
Exactly. Some of the scenes focused on Big Boss look great graphically but A LOT of the environments look bland as hell. The ground textures look rough.
Really, anyone looking to do a remake needs to take notes from the Final Fantasy 7 remake in terms of staying true to the core story while drastically elevating the game play, animations, and overall look and feel of the game. In a lot of ways the gameplay they've shown so far looks more in line with the current loose definition of a remaster and not a complete remake which to me, is a little unfortunate.

Good point with the colors, but the music used was literally on the og.

I don't remember the exact name, but it was one of the sneaking themes, I'll look it up later.
