I got my friends nephew an internship that led to a $60K a year IT job out of college through a DEI program.

yea, i mentioned in here before but i know plenty of people who got opportunities through DEI programs
Someone in my family is in college right now and already got a 6 figure offer for when they graduate and that was mostly off the networking and visibility he got from different investment bank DEI internships he got during college. The DEI program got him in the door and his work proved he was on the level. They might not have ever even looked at him without a program basically forcing them to

To think nobody benefitted from DEI programs is kind of crazy, if only because some company wanted to hit a checkbox or quota. A mf making 6 figures the last 3-4 yrs of their life definitely is some kind of positive don't matter if it was a PR thing for the company or not. The check was real

Main cases of DEI and Nepotism are white people overrating the fukk out off the average white person.

Elon already called that out. They’re about to find out, that’s what’s funny. Elon’s tweets are referring to the average American if you read between the lines.

Starting January 20, they’re about to find out.

:what:

F*ck Elon. He's a racist product of nepotism himself who leeches other's accomplishments. He's only saying that shyt because he wants to exploit foreign labor. It's all a smokescreen.

Never said Elon was good.

Elon about to cripple the domestic workforce is my point. The guy think many people here are overpaid and skating by, which many domestic white people are.

Look what he did to Twitter, that’ll be everywhere.

It's stupidity. You see a lot of dumb shyt get pushed on here. This one irritates me the most because I've been able to get several young black kids out of college into our company with these programs. And nikkas are shrugging their shoulders just because it potentially helped other groups. It's this ignorant burn it all down mentality if it potentially helps someone other than black people.
:what:

I mean if you're going to comment on my post at least understand the perspective you're commenting on.

I don't have an issue with DEI.

My issue is with the numbers being produced with us as the face.

Make Asians the face of DEI and have Asians take all the DEI darts. They're the ones eating off the DEI wave. In that Meta report you see Black, Hispanic, Black, Black, Black.

With the numbers reported at the bottom, it needs to be Asian, Women, Asian, Asian, Asian.

The group making the smallest gains should not be the face of any movement. The group with the largest gains should not be able to duck the DEI label. That shyt begins to look like propaganda and useful stupidity to just let the shyt rock like that. I'll be happy being the face of the DEI movement when I see the 6-7% gains in company representation that the Asians get. If you got an issue with folks wanting more in exchange for the social cost of being the face of the DEI movement. :camby:

Anybody downplaying these programs is either a cac, an agent or ignorant.

These programs have been around for decades before they were rebranded “DEI”. They have helped thousands of black undergrads and grad students get a look that they normally wouldn’t get.

If you don’t believe me, go talk to career professionals at universities, both PWI and HBCU and you will see how invaluable these programs are to just giving black kids a their first good look.

I personally have friends who are directors/VP levels who got a good look because Fortune 500 companies had mandates to diversify and went recruiting at HBCUs and conferences like Black MBA conference.

These programs have literally helped tens of thousands of black professionals get their foot in the door.

Yup. I know countless Black people who are middle/upper management in a whole host of industries cause of DEI efforts like National Black, Forte, Toigo, MLT, Consortium, etc.

This whole anti-DEI movement is gross and to see anyone Black cosigning its dissolvement at the behest of right wingers is foolish.
