Megan Thee Stallion - Good News (Debut album - November 20th)

I definitely consider that her debut album and not sure why they don’t. It’s 14 tracks, more than 30 minutes, and it’s not free. They basically pulled a Young Thug with that release, especially Young Thug had about 5 “debuts” that turned into “commercial mixtapes”.

That’s who this reminded me of! Young thug!

Thanks for posting. I think like most people, I was expecting much higher first week sales with the PR machine she has supporting her. This is why I asked earlier if her career trajectory would’ve warranted 4 Grammy nominations without the personal drama.

I didn’t realize that Megan had an association with Atlantic records.

This is public knowledge but it’s interesting timing that this was posted even thought the subject matter was Cardi B

The album is terrible. Body is one of the most annoying songs of the year, butchered classic sample flips (Who Shot Ya, Boyz n The Hood), wasted features (Durk, Popcaan)

A lot of women are also saying it’s trash even those who love her.

I’ve listened to it 3 times and most of the producers should be ashamed of themselves, especially the bigger names like Juicy J. I don’t see how Juicy J can produce such hard shyt for himself, even recently, and comes with this light pillowy shyt for Megan. I guess it does well to cater to the demo it’s aimed at, but if I could find a way to take these vocals and put them over other beats, I would. There’s various known Houston producers she has direct access to that would’ve laced this album something serious, so I just don’t get the Roc Nation backing that leads to all these amateur hokey sounding beats.

She's catching Nicki level heel heat from y'all, but she had ran the game for a decade before the hate got to cartoonish levels...but that duck faced talentless hooker cardi is beloved? I skimmed through this album. The only track I like is Savage Remix and that is cheating cause that came out a while ago.

Not really sure what identifying with the content has to do with anything. I don’t identify with damn near all of Three 6 Mafia’s content, yet they have some all time stuff. The last City Girls album had some harder beats than Good News. That’s embarrassing. It’s not about identifying with the content, it’s about simply making something that sounds good, and this album stinks. As of right now, people supper the come-up, and the fact that she’s a nice genuine person, and also very knowledgeable about hip hop in general based on her interviews, but her actual music has been more misses than hits.

Naw Nicki's last album was dope to me. It's not hate to say Megan just isn't even close to the artist Nicki is. Just the single Chun-Li is better than any track on Megan's album.
