So does Seth McFarland have a duty to discuss political topics in Ted 2? Does the next Seth Rogan movie need to delve into middle-age, middle-class ennui, or the 2016 presidential election?

This is ridiculous.
seth rogan aint a young black that have other young black listeners thats going through hell.....if u can a talent your suppose to use it to better the world, not to strictly profit

yeah, cuz the average joe can reach millions of people with 140 characters.........:rudy:

You missed the point. Just because dude has a "platform" as an entertainer doesn't mean he has any obligation to use it as you see fit.

Just like when you go into your shyt job, no one expects you to enlighten them on the conflict in Syria, or how black folks have been disenfranchised for centuries. They expect you to do your job, that's how you provide value.

The only thing he needs to do is entertain. The funny thing is, y'all don't know his name because of his political views or his intellect, you know his name because he spits some "street" shyt in a unique, amped-up cadence, with some over-produced beat looping in the background.

You know and accept him as that person, then criticize him for not being someone else.

If you want political science, subscribe to The Economist and NYT, listen to lectures from actual political scientists, read political works, involve yourself at the local level by attending council meetings, zoning board meetings, and so on. Volunteer at or start a grassroots organization...
...
...
...

Exactly.

Why don't you dudes understand this?

tl, dr;

Stop looking to entertainers for intellectual enlightenment.

What do you produce for black folks? Bet the answer is not a damn thing.

So u disagree that music has an affect to a degree on the human psyche or no. Yall STAY with the "bu bu but what do u do!!" when yall futile attempts at defending mental poison are being shattered. Yall are TOO predictable now. :pachaha: Jus say "i like hearing rappers rap about the genocide of the black community". I wont judge you. Keep it 100

disingenuous ass dudes acting like they don't understand the personas associated with rap and the subject matter while policing entertainers politics from their armchairs, lame
What kind of backwards response is that?!:heh:

Let us continue the rap personification of killing nikkaz because its tradition in hiphop so that rich white execs continue to flourish off of it

Let us not talk about the political climate that cause nikkaz to kill nikkaz in real life so that rappers can continue to brag about it :dahell:

And I'm disingenuous :shaq2:

No nikka. That's not the answer. What do you produce for black people. Answer the question. I say this to say you are always coming at hip hop but NEVER at cacs. Never heard explain what we gonna do if we had no negative hip hop. You sound suspect as fukk and crazy. I agree with your point but something about YOU is suspect. Especially since you an Eminem Stan. What do you produce for black people? If you scares to answer just say so:ehh:

I produce a positive environment for my responsibility in this world to become a productive member of society, my daughter. And i really hope that you're not trying to compare me or anyone else on this board to somebody like Meek, who has one of the biggest platforms in black america rite now. You really doin the usual mental gymnastics rite now. Now again, do u agree or disagree that music has an affect on the human psyche or no

:childplease:
you know exactly where rap comes from and the subject matter that some rappers bring to the genre
you act like every rapper has to be on some militant shyt
latching this new armchair "pro black" shyt that millenials are on nowadays to every rapper is so lame and lazy, you're basically saying, since you are a black entertainer, your job is to be a puppet to whatever political agenda I'm feeling at the moment :camby:
if it isn't other races putting us into some thug box, it's underachieving nikkas dumping all the responsibility for their communities on what is the black equivalant of Taylor Swift or Ed Sheran :pacspit:

Naw what do YOU produce for black folks? For instance. I grow food. What do you produce? Tangible stuff to help black people. And I do agree music has effects on people. But, YOU just look suspect as fukk.

And if u agree with my overall point on this subject then i could care less that u disagree that Eminem is a talented wordsmith. Eminems rapping ability or lack of, has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Im just glad that u see the light about this INTENTIONALLY MANIPULATED rap game. You thinking that Eminem is wack with rhyming words, just tells me that i cant take your opinions on rap serious.

:heh: at that reasoning, how come rappers like Dead Prez or Ice Cube never got killed?

Only tin foil hat types believe Pac was killed cause of pro black songs...

Cube was never a threat & he had no real influence & a huge following he was just a dope rapper that didn't take no shyt he definitely was feared & dead pres wasn't anything special.

Since tupac died what rappers with strong influence & followings went the political route jay 50 Wayne kanye has no street presence.

Not saying meek has those guys level of influence but he has more reach than any of these new nikkas.

Jcole & kdot has no influence in these streets & I don't know any kid's that want to be like them

Why, because i think Eminem rhymes words well? :dead:Yall are reachin like a mothafukka. If u think im white, ive been tryna put together a big "ban bet" thread. Loser gets banned for an agreed upon amount of time. I need more participants. Everybody is turning my offer down. Do u want to take my offer since u think im white?

Just admit your a pop rapper

When has he ever tried to be anything else? He basically admitted he's a pop rapper and is still getting shyt on.

Y'all say dude is looked up to by all these cats for speaking street shyt, then you criticize him as being a puppet for Jews. Which one is it? At least y'all could be consistent with your bad arguments.

What kind of backwards response is that?!:heh:

Funny though, because you and other no reading, no attention span, ADD lames like you, skip right over all of the legitimate political discourse on how blacks are treated in American society. You skip over it in order to be entertained, then complain when the entertainer fails to acknowledge the larger struggle.

Most people have no depth to them and look to parrot the opinions of others. :yeshrug:

Don't get mad when your rapper heroes don't provide you with an opinion.
