Red wouldn't want to be on a NY list though, lol.

Treach was just speaking about this. He said Jersey MC's get mad when people lump them in with NY. He said when the East/West sh*t was going on, Cali dudes out there would tell him that he might as well be NY since NJ is so close, and he said he was scrapping because of people saying sh*t like that to him. HAHA! Jersey rappers take it personally. That's a whole other state. They ain't with it.

Fair point!

Yeah it's only Jersey City folks and the like who try to front like they're from NY with that NY/NJ shyt. I remember Redman said on Juan Epstein podcast "We wasn't NY nikkas. We used to rob y'all NY nikkas" :mjlol:

Just like the albums list, if you explain the metrics...it just becomes weirder.
Giving Action Bronson his spot because of a supposed "15 year run" but putting Ace where he is and mentioning he "had a slight resurgence in 2002" :mjlol:

Mind you - Ace has dropped damn near as much music as Bronson SINCE Bronson's supposed run started.

Just call it your favs and nobody can really argue shyt, but trying to base it on metrics makes it damn easy to poke holes through the logic.

Action Bronson is a better rapper than Masta Ace and makes better music

Ayo,

at number 69

Who is KA?
Dude is wildly underground

Putting dudes like that over real movers and shakers in NY hip hop history will never make sense

There’s a criteria but it seems loosely acknowledged based on feeling if anything it should be a weighted point system

This is a random guy with too much free time trying to rank rappers he likes as the "top 100 of New York"

Action bronson was nothing but a Ghostface Killah biter, having him so high in this list is already a red flag before going anywhere further. Get the fukk outta here. One star. This list is trash with zero cultural sense.
