I don’t eat much McDonald’s these days but I had to go to one in Hickory, NC and it has those kiosks in there... They also have kiosks in Quiktrip too... I mean all they really did was replace people cause them shyts didn’t make my food come out faster smh, these companies better know what they’re doing cause people hate having their time wasted and they got us thinking kiosks means food will arrive faster...

That will NEVER happen. Anything that even leans towards socialism will get shut down quick. America is the definition of capitalism. I've even had some poor people tell me that increasing taxes on the rich is detrimental to the country since doing so would result in rich people hoarding money instead of investing it back into the economy. They might be right but I would not expect a dirt poor person to say this :francis:. Just take a look at the failed cities in America such as Detroit. All they had to do was invest in that city a little to revilatize it but it seems like the government said "FK it" let capitalism decide their fate. It's sad really. They don't even want to fix our failing infrastructure. I guess they are waiting for rich entrepreneurs to do it for them .
Capitalism becomes Socialism and Socialism becomes Communism. It’s not a matter of “if” it’s a matter of when.

Marx was right, Capitalism eventually runs its course and the next logical step is socialization of capital.

The problem was, there were too many power hungry bunker communists who tried to be the vanguards of the party because they got inflated egos and thought they could influence/speed up the “historical processes” which lead to communism. Countries who hadn’t gone through the a period of industrial growth through capitalism didn’t have the wealth to re-distribute.

Now there’s been so many decades of propaganda, stupid rust belt factory workers brainwashed by capitalist media conglomerates are disillusioned with socialism/communism even though socialism/communism would exponentially benefit them and solve a lot of the problems facing America’s lower and middle class.

I dont use any automated kiosks anywhere if I don’t have to. Since I’m payin my money then I want service...And if they have just kiosks open as registers, like they sometimes do st Walmart when I go, then if the shyt don’t ring up the first time it still gets bagged :manny:

If I’ma ring my shyt up and bag it then I might as well give myself a discount. It’s a sale every time I go thru that bytch :WeRich:

Co-signing with all the other posters here; OP scapegoating progressive politics when this was going to happen eventually. :bpgucci:

It's not a direct reaction to "Fight for $15" or campaigning for a living wage, it's simple economics. Automation facilitates growth.

Wakanda slave mentality do you have to have to use this argument? :bpmjpls:

"Don't you be talkin' 'bout how much massa payin' us, or he gon' take our jobs away!!!" :uncledenzel:

Mcdobalds made 22 billion last year after operating cost. And their stock is 160 dollars a share now doubling in price every 5 to 7 years.

If that is not profitable so are a ton of other companies throughout the world.

shyt I wish they really weren't profitable so it wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg to buy a franchise.

Also the easiest way to increase revenue is to reduce work force. That is why every company goes to that when it comes to increasing revenue.

Homie I was an IE coming out of college. Whenever management wanted us to come up with cost savings the goal was to reduce 1 to 3 workers on the line....shyt is easy math.

Better be careful with that statement

Funny thing, that

That particular statement holds water such that it applies to me, people 1000 years ago, and alien.beings on distant planets

I can try to pretend I don't know.. but I do

So that's about as much care as you can put into it. Just understanding the principle. Other than that, become a rare talent so you can name your price

LMAO I love the posters in this thread saying, "convenient." They have bitten the hook and are being reeled in for slaughter. Just because more people are socially retarded and have the attention span of a hyper child doesn't make attacking entry level low skill jobs okay. What makes America what it is are entry level low skill jobs. "You can always flip burgers or work retail." That saying was comforting for people taking chances because no matter what they could always get a low skill entry level job and build from there.

Millions of people's first jobs involve flipping burgers and working retail. They use that money to propel themselves to greater things. If removing millions of opportunities from billions of people is convenient to you, you are disconnected from the average person. The average person needs opportunity and entry level low skill work is that opportunity. Those companies also help people pay for college and taking that away from billions of people is not convenient to them.

Automation is inevitable, it will negatively affect minorities and low-income communities that suffer from lack of opportunity. I do not think that is convenient.

The dehumanization of humans is real. We need to care about one another more. Big facts. We need to stop being selfish and short-sighted because it's not convenient to be apathetic.

Have to disagree with you breh. McDonalds is very profitable. That is the reason their stock has increased every year for the past 3 decades.

Plus we can't look at this from a big city got a bunch of selections angle. Mcdonalds racks up and opens thousands of restaurants because they target everywhere in the US.

When you travel to rural areas with only one light....McDonalds is there. In small towns with only 1000 folks....mcdonalds is there.

Even in my wifes home town in Mississippi. Before they got any fast food restaurant even before they got a walmart. Mcdonalds was the first chain to arrive there. Just count how many mcdonalds you come across throughout the country in small towns as you make a drive on the highway.

Those mcdonalds stay packed in small towns.

The addition of these semi automated systems (they are not full automated) is all about capitalism and cutting overhead costs. If anyone is to be blamed its the VPs, Execs, stock holders, Lean Black Belts and Industrial Engineers at mcdonalds....basically the bean counters and cost reduction folks.
Their revenue has been descreasing since 2013. Stock prices don’t tell the whole story.... the foreign market is the reason Mickey D’s stays afloat. In some of these countries like Kuwait, India, China, it is seen as a “treat” or luxury item.
