this is just the beginning...cashier is a dying "trade"....Wal-Mart's will only have a few cashiers left in the coming future..ole folks without a proper retirement and single moms will feel the wrath of the automated age

It's already happening with Walmart. Barely any cashiers, just the self checkout.

My hubby and I actually had a contract with McDonalds with our own team of people, installing those throughout Canada, a couple years ago. Very convenient, but will be replacing a great deal of cashiers.

Yep. One of the McDonald's in my city just got the kiosks. Went from 4 cash registers down to just 2

How long will it be until we get rid of the bootlick mentality that poor people deserve to be poor and don't deserve a livable wage? I've noticed a lot of coli brehs saying working in fast food restaurants don't deserve a good wage because it's a starter job and should find higher paying jobs, but we wonder why there's unemployment increase and poverty while the 1% gets richer. Yall use principle to justify how American capitalism works, but principle doesn't have everyone's mouths fed.

These trades are in no immediate danger of automation.

People just want to be inside all day and sit behind a desk answering calls or writing code.

IRV systems will replace most people talking on the phone soon and if you a coder you might be able to make it a little while longer but yeah...
