I don't think it's gonna do anything crazier than what it already did. With just 2 months to promote the fight, I wouldn't doubt it hitting the same amount of buys or a bit less. At the end of the day, he's taking the fight because there's simply no other options. It would be cool for him to fight in NYC, but overall, what's the selling point...that Maidana made a good effort last time?:yeshrug:
wanna put some coli cash on that? :mjpls:

Latino boards legit think Maidana won and has the formula to give him his first L. I like when rematches are done right away. They're feeding off the momentum while its still fresh and talked about. I hate when they wait a year and both fighters fight other people like Jon Jones and Alex Gus. shyt is annoying.

I'm a Latino myself and Im not jumping through hoops to see this fight. It's not the worst fight that can be made by any means, but I just don't think it's gonna be an over the top seller. There's a very small majority of Latinos (and people in general) who thought Maidana won, so I'm not sure about "Latinos" running to the ticket booth. If the fight is at Barclay's, I think that's kinda a selling point of being in NY and a whole new surrounding for Floyd. But does that equal 1 Mill buys on PPV? I think the gate will be a sellout as usual but I expect another 800K-ish type of outing. Floyd has no other options if you look at the landscape.

I really hope they bring this to NY. I'm sure the ticket prices would be double at MGM wich would cover the tax diff.

I don't think Floyd likes taking them kinda risks with his money tho

I'm not saying its going to do Mayweather - DLH numbers :whoa: I just said it's going to do a lot better than the first fight. It will sell more than say, a Bradley fight or Khan fight. Only numbers that wil be DLH levels are Pacman and the stocks for those are dropping the older these 2 men get.

I got the latino bit off of the brownpride board while googling reviews for the fight. :bryantshrug:

Thing is, 800-850K is actually a really good PPV outing, but with the Guarantee Floyd gets it's some what a bust for Showtime where they gotta make at least in the 1.3-1.4 Mill range to turn over. I'd be very shocked if it did over 800-850K the 2nd time around, on top of that though we may never get the actual numbers anyway so :yeshrug:

Honestly...if it's at Barclay's Center, I might go just to say I saw Floyd fight live. :ehh:

the only way this fight does more than the last card is if they have a fire undercard with one high level undercard fight just like Garcia-Matthysse for Floyd-Canelo.
might aswell put porter-brook back 1 more week

I think it will sell more this time though, people didnt expect the fight to be so close and it got a big buzz around the world after seeing that floyd struggled.

more casuals will watch this time and they will promote it as if floyd might lose

exactly..Floyd needs an ooponent built up for next year...battle of undefeateds at 147...if porter won and wins it in the same fashion as he did against paulie...then he can be a sure shot for mayweather in may (barring what the outcome for canelo-lara is)

i just hope hoya and arum can find a way to make pacquaio vs floyd in may
shyt is tiring
dont wanna see either of em fight anyone else
theyve both ran out of opponents
schaffer and arum really hate eachother, so mayb him being out helps the situation a little bit
al haymond just about the money
floyd dont really like de la hoya either though so probably doubtful

this gonna be a one sided schooling
especially since maidana dont have his ariza shakes anymore
and theres gonna be a ref that doesnt allow him to fight like a madman

undercard for this shyt better be stacked

Floyd vs Maidana 2 at Barclay's??

Mayweather-Maidana II headed to Brooklyn?
Mayweather Promotions is in the final stages of receiving a promoter’s license from the New York State Athletic Commission according to an article by David Mayo at mlive.com. The company’s CEO Leonard Ellerbe would not confirm Floyd Mayweather’s revelation that Marcos Maidana would be Floyd’s next opponent or that the fight would land at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on September 13!!

Probably because golden boy has that vegas date:manny:

The fight will be around 1.4 million buys like Shane
everyone thought maidana was gonna get the robert guerrero treatment, but floyd fought his fight, and people are stupid enough to think maidana has a chance
so the numbers will be up

There's Thurman and Porter out there, for either of them fight, and Robert Guerrero should be ranked higher than where he is

I have a feeling Floyd will fight, Manny, and Cotto for the middleweight belt he's final two fights

porters too big off a risk this close to the end
