i have a trained eye..castillo won that fight..even last year I watched and rescored 114-112 for him..roy didnt finish griffin in the first fight..griffin did something smart by taking a knee..usually when a fighter takes a knee, he is still of sound mind and just needed a breather..roy was trying to finish im..key word "trying"

Then Griffin hammed in up like homey that got the Rigo treatment :mjlol: Dude literally pauses & slumps over

considerable is not the word..montell was dropped in the fight before the DQ and the scores were very close..montell was up by 1 and only losing by 1 and 2 on other cards...that late in the fight with a prime roy..he was still in the fight score wise..the DQ was unfortunate but it wasn't a way out type of win..he took rounds off roy

Late hit...?

His title, they had to take it.

Why?

I guess that's the only way he could lose.

if you hit somebody after the bell, low too many times, or when they are down and they can't continue....its a DQ and if they are a champion they lose their belt(s)

What about Riddikk Bowe vs Buster Mathis? Same state? It's called a no contest for Bowe but for Roy he gets the DQ. Some bs from Larry Hazzard, be consistent.

lol why do ppl act like roy jones was out there fighting killers every time out?

the lengths ppl go to hate on floyd
we gon act like roy beat a prime bernard hopkins:sas1:

toney and hopkins were very early in his career,

who's the next hall of famer he beat:gucci:

hbo commentating team used to call roy a ducker before they even cared about floyd

it started with him and den bob arum and hbo took it to the next level with floyd

roy didnt start fighting everyone until he got washed

he went back down to fight tarver because he had no other fight avaliable at heavyweight after holyfeld and tyson fights fell through, not cause he superman:pachaha:
,
Do yall watch boxing or do you just skim through it:scust:

floyd's resume is one of the best ever

prime roy jones is still the most amazing boxer ive ever seen though:blessed:
Imo Floyd has one of the weakest resumes I have ever seen.

Roy was definitely the best fighter I've ever seen. We could talk about how great he is from the eye test, but dude beat somebody an innate 60 lbs. heavier and outweighed by 30 lbs. on fight night. Not to mention embarrassing technical boxers like Hopkins and Toney in lopsided fashion. Heavyweight champ, best natural physical talent in the ring, elite boxing skills and outclassing other elite Hall Of Fame boxers in their prime one-sidedly. Stop it.

Floyd 2nd, then Lennox Lewis and Hopkins in terms of fighters I've seen.

At the day it was an easy payday betting on them at their best.

To get more into the argument:

Floyd is great, but when it comes to crowning achievements, he falls short of Roy other than being undefeated.

Let's also not forget, fighting at a higher weight comes with more punishment and getting hit is both a product of reflexes and skills. No matter how skilled you are, if your reflexes are affected you're going to get hit and your reflexes slow down faster the higher weight class you're in. Power increases exponentially and that means the shots you take take more of a toll, that's also why we see more one hitters the higher you go up in weight. Floyd has also got hit with some big bombs in his career, if there was a pound for pound equivalent to that shot Mosley caught him with fighter @175lbs. shyt wouldn't been lights out. Those body shots people like to hit Floyd with while he smiles would be absolute punishing in both the fight and in the long run if that was coming from a fighter at 175lbs. even considering if he weighed that much as well.

No way a 43 year old Bernard Hopkins loses to a 36 year old Joe Calzaghe if they both were 147lbs. their whole careers. Hopkins just wouldn't have had the same wear and tear.

Weight classes are a major factor when you want to compare fighters. That's why when somebody says Ali was the greatest, I have no arguments against it.
