Smart move on the Rams part.
2 types of NFL teams: those that are 100% all in with their QB next year, and everyone else.
Teams that are all in?
Buf, Cle, Cin, Bal, Ten, KC, SD, NYG(?), Min(?), TB, Sea, Arz(?)
So thats 9 teams for sure, + 3 more maybes, which leaves 20(!) teams that would be willing to hop into a game of QB musical chairs this offseason.
20!
Prudence doesn't win this game. If you see who you want, you get them early. Forget setting the market, giving up too much, or anything like that.
If you're the Rams, you got your guy, and now 19 other teams that are (maybe) contemplating a move are going to act quickly.
The QB market is about to do gamestop stock numbers.
The Rams look like they gave up a king's ransom this morning, but in a day or 2 it might be a bigger package going from NE to fukking Jax for Minshew or something equally desperate.

Crazy how Stafford can go a decade without winning a playoff game but still be regarded as a top 10 QB according to ESPN but Lamar just had to win a playoff game in his 3rd year.

White privilege....
The guy who won league mvp and 1st team all pro unanimously wasn’t regarded as a top ten QB?

It certainly isn't lateral. Give me a break. Stafford is better than Goff. As for Deshaun, the asking price must have been really high.

It's a lateral move because he's only gonna take them as far as Goff did which is a playoff exit and no ring. He'll put up better numbers but not get it done when it counts.

He's the third best QB in the division maybe 4th depending on what San Fran does.

They in the same spot we was in the last four years. Super Bowl or bust. If they don't get it, it's a failure but I applaud the effort.

They probably called Houston and were denied because they didn't want Goff. I'd rather have Jameis for cheap than surrender picks for Stafford.

I don't think many of you guys watched Padford on a regular basis. :jbhmm:

Not saying he's a complete bum but he's really streaky just like Goff. You see his big numbers in games and a lot of times that was put up in the 4th when the Lions were losing by 2-3 scores and the opposing defense went soft. Or there'd be games where he'd come out on fire for the first 2-3 drives of the game, then do nothing the next two and a half quarters.

Besides 2011, there were very few times where he was in control from start to finish of a game.
Stafford is better than Goff. And you add the surrounding talent of the Rams, plus McVay running the ship and Stafford has a real chance to make noise. With that being said...IDGAF. I hope them nikkas lose every fukking game, Matt back flare up, and Donald and Ramsey both demand trades. Get them picks as high as they can be.

So far the Lions GM/braintrust looking good. And I ain't even tripping off the Campbell hire no more because it looks like he got a strong ass coaching staff, full of black men too. I'm almost scared to say I really like the direction and decisions I'm seeing so far.

Would've preferred at least one guaranteed high pick. The big winner for right now is Stafford. He goes to LA. He goes to a stacked squad. When they do like Minnesota he will get no blame and get even more money just for being a tall, white QB. Lions are in a position where they don't have to rush or reach in regards to a QB. They got options, that's good. I'm just glad to move on and hopeful that this new FO can do what no one has been able to do since Lucy was on TV...build a winning culture. We'll see.

I expect staffford to succeed with a competent organization and good offensive coaching staff. He been in Detroit with trash coaches and a cursed organization.
